hey, do you have a wax-testnet wallet by chance? ive made a new micro-crowdfudning website this week: kickwax.io and I would love to get all bugs ironed out so I can release on mainnet. all the cosmetic upgrades costs will be in $ROOK, but that doesnt exist on testnet so it is set to wax just while testing.

@IndieGameJoe Godot is a better engine than Unity. The infinitely hierarchical node system is vastly superior to Unity's shallow object->component model. Godot is basically if Unity components could have components that could have components that could have components (to infinity).

A game developed in Godot is currently the third most-played game on Steam. 🤖👑 Slay the Spire 2 just peaked at over 571,000 players today. It is officially the most successful Godot game in history.

All my career as a game designer has reinforced the truth that it’s better to create a game design to appeal strongly to a specific audience, who obsess over it rather than a broad appeal game that no one really hates. My experience is also that the best way to create that “obsession” is to make the game you, the developers, are excited about. It’s how we did Call of Cthulhu, Civilization, Doom, Age of Empires, Cthulhu Wars, etc. In other words: appeal to the whackos. Be a whacko. Hold nothing back. Everything that comes down from the managers is designed to dilute and weaken your game, so strive to counter it as much as you can. Anyway. That’s my take.

@RomanPunksNFT @exQUIZitely forgot about that one! I remembered now the cover art, but I never played it. The cover art is by Denis Loubet and I always thought the black box thing for U7 was a missed opportunity for more awesome art from him

@PixilMini @exQUIZitely I liked VI. When you mentioned a Tibetan, I thought you were going to say The Savage Empire, because that game was built on the Ultima VI engine and the setting was loosely based off Asian/African/American tribal cultures.

Ultima I was released in 1981. Ultima IX came out in 1999. It’s arguably one of the best - if not the best - roleplaying franchises of all time. Among the options below, which was your favourite and which did you consider the weakest? My favourite was Ultima IV; it felt very different (and still stands out as pretty unique today). I wasn’t a fan of Ultima VIII anymore and subsequently never touched Ultima IX.

I was born in 84... then randomly one day, this guy was handing out gifts in my 5th grade class for some Tibetan holiday his rich family celebrated. I didnt even know him, but I will always remember his name, Tenzin. I got Ultima 6, special edition with a cloth map. I owned only copied floppies of games at this point. What a day!!! It was the first in the series that used a monoscale tile engine for the world. The same engine was evolved into U7. Which is, I agree, definitely the best. I actually really liked 9, because at the time it came out, it was amazing to see these places like Buccaneer's Den in 3D. But I do remember the game being unstable and glitchy, and that the schedule system for NPCs was worse than U7. U7 I played again later in a fan-remaster called Exult. Such a good game. My favorite part about that game was that you had to really pry a quest out of an NPC! That and that whole entire-world-is-persistent thing. Im going on too long now, hehe, but I found a debug menu command in U6 (which also worked in U7) that let you see the NPC data and edit it in real time. You could see their schedules, time and X,Y coords for all tasks. There was a flag, "in party" or something like this. I toggled it on an NPC and it appeared to do nothing. 10 minutes later the NPC ran up and got in formation. The NPC was running the whole time to reach me!! I thought it was amazing that the system was that persistent.

@exQUIZitely Being born in 1981, my biased opinion is that Ultima VII was the best, and also happens to be the first one I played. Weirdly enough, I also really liked The Savage Empire. I'd say Ultima IX is the weakest.

I’ve always loved maps in games. They let you “explore” the world before you even set foot in it - like an appetizer for what’s to come. What places would you check out first? How would you get there? What lay beyond…? Skara Brae has been hardcoded into my brain. What map had that effect on you?

Jayme #1334. The RNG combo of background colors and her colors have created something special here. This is a Redux mini. The only way to get her is to own the original mini and upgrade to the new look. The old version had no background, but the RNG seed had it hidden in there.

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
AI is the highest ELO battle ever. Speed of deployment of hardware, especially robotics, is the lynchpin.
Hans C Nelson 🗽@HansCNelson

Google's recent Gemini 3 release has shocked the world with undeniable proof that the TPU is a powerhouse AI chip, leaving many to wonder what lays in store for companies like @NVIDIA & @xAI. Listen to @GavinSBaker lay out the exact strategy that Jensen Huang & @ElonMusk are going to roll out over the next 12 months to beat @Google at AI. The world is in for a HUGE surprise. ----------  We'll see the first models trained on Blackwell in early 2026. I think the first Blackwell model will come from XAI. And the reason for that is just, according to Jensen, no one builds data centers faster than Elon. Jensen has said this on the record. ... So if you're Jensen or Nvidia, you need to get as many GPUs deployed in one data center as fast as possible in a coherent cluster so you can work out the bugs. And so this is what X AI effectively does for Nvidia because they build the data centers the fastest. They can deploy Blackwells that scale the fastest, and they can help work with Nvidia to work out the bugs for everyone else. So because they're the fastest, they will, they'll have the first Blackwell model. ... We know that these Blackwell models are gonna be really good. ... Then something even more important happens. So the GB 200 was really, really, it was really hard to get it going. The GB 300 is a great chip. It is drop in compatible in every way with those GB 200 racks. Now you're not gonna replace the GB 200s there. Just any data center that can handle those, you can slot in the GB 300s, and now everybody's good at making those racks and you know how to get the heat out. You know how to cool them. You're gonna put those GB 300s in and then the companies that use the GB 300s, they're going to be the low cost producer of tokens. Particularly if you're vertically integrated. If you're paying a margin to someone else to make those tokens, you're probably not gonna be. I think this has pretty profound implications because I think it has to change Google's strategic calculus. ---------- Listen to the full conversation between Gavin & @patrick_oshag below 👇
