I got a quote to build my 3K sq ft house in NC. 4bd/3 bath. 3 car garage. Tile in bathrooms. Wet room in the master bath with a soaker tub & heated floor. Tile shower in the second bathroom. Quartz counters. LVP flooring throughout. Solid doors. Custom cabinets. One fireplace with a mantle.

US coffee prices are surging at a record pace: The average price of ground roast coffee is up to a record $9.46 per pound. In February, coffee prices jumped +30.5% YoY, and have surged +127% since January 2020. Over the same period, ground beef prices have risen +73% to $6.74 per pound, near an all-time high. Furthermore, steak prices have soared +66% to a record $12.74 per pound. Overall, the "food at home" category price level is up +31% while "food away from home" is up +36% since January 2020. Food inflation remains a major issue.

Just grabbed lunch at an airport McDonalds that had the kiosks and people at registers. The registers are so much faster. Name a meal, pick a size, pick your drink pay. 30 seconds.
Kiosk: login or guest? Ad for hot honey wrap. Pick a meal. Choose your toppings to omit, pick your size, scroll through drinks, ad for dessert, pay. Only watched 3 people do it, but ~60 seconds for the fastest. Then it was funny because the thing was out of paper so it sent the guy to the register for the ticket number 😂

App Store review is one of the first columns of the software ecosystem to just completely buckle under the weight of AI.
It almost makes building apps not worth it until Apple gets its stuff in order.

Moral/legal question: A gambling company making a big claim about a company, without any source, then immediately linking the betting market below. Is this legal?

I'll argue her side because I'm similar. I am not a regular at Starbucks, don't really like it. But in an airport with few options, I'll probably buy it. Here's the mental calculus: I can download yet another app I don't want, sign up for spam emails I don't want, inevitably enter all my personal info through a few screens, be prompted to set store preference probably, dig out my card and enter its details, figure out a new screen flow for ordering (probably easy, but unfamiliar) and and punch in my order, stand oddly to the side thinking I did it right but that feeling that it's new to me and maybe I didn't lingers. Am I wasting the time I could've made progress in line? Probably not, but I'll wonder. Versus, I stand in line for 20 min, say my order, tap a card and go. It sucks too but I can bail at anytime if it's taking longer and I'm not forfeiting my email to spam from a silly coffee company. That's why I'm choosing waiting in line.

I am not a regular at Starbucks, don't really like it. But in an airport with few options, I'll probably buy it.
