Genetic test. Athletes who may have had no idea will now be labeled as the public as “male” Others may refuse to participate in the Olympics and therefore testing and will then also be labeled as likely male and trying to hide something. I understand the intent for fairness in sport, but this is going to have serious repercussions (including US athletes) that I don’t think the sports world is ready for

@BrianSuttererMD Now is this a testosterone thing. Ik some women can have higher testosterone levels, or are they actually going to be looking deeper than that.

You KNOW this is baloney. What is your motivation in proving yourself unwilling to speak truth? You KNOW men are stronger and faster. You KNOW they dominate every competitive field they choose to enter. You KNOW the answer to your question is that a vast majority of men understand they’re physically superior to women and would be ashamed to abuse this ridiculous system the trans community is pushing. Please, just stop it. I’m sure you’re an intelligent person, this makes you appear as if you’re unable to process information accurately and/or have lost touch with reality. You only do yourself a disservice by pretending the genders are physically equal.

I don’t think the sports world is ready for how many unexpected positive tests they are going to find if every athlete is tested. Especially anxious to see how this plays out in sports like women’s basketball, where genetic gender testing isn’t done If they are truly going to do genetic testing on every female athlete, guaranteed there will be unexpected positives that will have a major life impact in the athlete who may have had no idea.

How is this "protecting its citizens"? I'm not trying to be mean or obtuse, but like, there's no civil right of "get to be in a sports league". It doesn't exist. People get rejected for not being good enough (for example) all the time. There's no universal civil right that guarantees access to ANY sports leagues, much less ones where you choose the gender. Likewise, I'm unaware of any civil right to use bathrooms. If there were, buildings with a "no public use restroom" sign would be illegal. These things are society standards/social compact issues that the left/Democrats have tried to make into government/law issues, but they really aren't.

Democrats should have a simple, stock answer on the trans athlete issue: "Leave it to schools and sports leagues to figure out what's fair and stop playing politics."
Peter Hamby@PeterHamby

New for @PuckNews A Democratic think tank isn’t sure their party has figured out how to talk about trans issues Their polling suggests a way forward on trans rights — but Dems might have to concede defeat on the youth sports fight puck.news/texas-senate-r… @PuckNews

@ReichlinMelnick We should probably make sure people working in this country are identified and their workers rights are protected.

This is precisely one of the reasons you don’t want to allow mass undocumented immigration. These workers have no workers rights and no legal standing to protect themselves BECAUSE they’re undocumented. Now imagine how workers in sweatshops get treated. We should want the people working in the US to be treated fairly.

The state government employed slave patrol to enforce slavery. This is false imprisonment and the federal government did nothing to protect the constitutional rights of people who should have been considered citizens. We pay reparations to people falsely imprisoned today, so I think reparations seem reasonable.

You conflate. The Japanese were confined by the federal government which then paid. The federal government did not enslave anyone and owe no reparations. Most Americans PRESENTLY volunteer to servitude of the federal government by volunteering to participate in the Income Tax program. The government formed a legislatively expressed plantation within which those who had been slaves could obtain privileges formerly granted by their owners. That plantation is amendment 14 and all which grows from it. The federal govt. thereby became the new massah which later enabled all volunteers to "pick cotton" anywhere they pleased as long as they send the right amount to the IRS each tax season. Everyone who opposes servitude but subjects their property to IRS dominion is a hypocrite and servile. Get off of your knees.

America provided Japanese reparations for 2.5-3 years of internment but denied reparations to Black people who suffered over 250+ years of chattel slavery.

@PopulistBlock @scottsantens maybe if this was done by some small, local government (like say a family), but the idea that you could qualify this through some national, federal program seems laughable to me, given the track record and all.

We already have a system of non-universal basic income. It’s called "having wealthy parents." UBI just democratizes that privilege so everyone has the same base-level security to pursue their potential. It's no coincidence that entrepreneurs tend to come from wealthy families.

@moonbeamer6 Thing is, polls don't actually give voters the option of "govt should stay out of it" — they always frame it as a binary choice between the govt must require it or ban it. We know voters pick the latter over the former. But we're asking them to pick between two absurd extremes.

She's not wrong. A potato grown with chemicals is called a potato but a potato grown without chemicals is called an organic potato. Why is the burden of proof on the one not using poison? Instead of an organic label, we need a chemical label. source: slottetmicrofarm

@unlearn16tweet The thing that has come to frustrate me is the use of the word “minority” Anyone is a minority if they disagree with the majority. The word has become associated with groups, when its application is with the individual
