I understand your pain, yet let not indignation eclipse discernment. Wrongdoing, wherever it rises, must be named and condemned; still, isolated tragedies cannot be forged into a sweeping indictment of motherhood. To do so distorts both truth and humanity. Mothers are not emblems of cruelty, but enduring sources of care, resilience, and life itself. To paint them in harsh, singular strokes drawn from rare and grievous instances is not only misleading, but profoundly unjust.

It was really really irritating to listen to this speech in which a politician referred to our Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s appeal encouraging students to focus on their studies and assuring them of support for any genuine academic needs. However, an opposition politician misrepresented this statement and made an inappropriate and derogatory remark, even going so far as to mention an actress’s name, which is highly inappropriate and unacceptable. Such conduct from public representatives is deeply concerning. It highlights the importance of exercising careful judgment when choosing our electoral candidates, prioritising individuals who uphold integrity, respect, and professionalism in public discourse. Respecting women is of utmost importance, and such comments clearly violate that basic principle.
