@ElrondBurrell@ArchTesta@JurajMikurcik@MarkSiddallRIBA@EsTresidder@paulmknally A good word to add to the brain. By stating there are 2 dwellings in the one building, when entering the data in PHPP eg Ventilation sheet, do u input data for 1 dwelling or does everything need to be doubled up, ie from 1 kitchen to 2 kitchens etc?
What’s the best solution in #DesignPH to place a solid front door with a vertical side light? I’m getting alert error when running results. Honed problem down to door/sidelight but can’t solve issue? @PHAIreland@the_iPHA@ElrondBurrell@JurajMikurcik
@MSCCruisesUSA Sadly experienced a flood in our room on the #mscvirtuosa , real disappointment as 50th birthday today, friends also got flooded next door @apple#ipad and laptop ruined. Relocated in new abode.
@ElrondBurrell@RHDarch@MarkSiddallRIBA I was under the impression that there needed to be fixed access, but I’ve never actually had this situation on one of my projects, so I may well be misremembering. Check with certifier. My loft is all below 1m head height so doesn’t count either way, although it is very useful!
Can a loft space with
- plastered walls & ceiling
- floored
- sloped ceiling
- head height 2m +
- within the thermal envelope
- used for storage
be included in a #passivhaus TFA ?
If it accessed via a drop down ladder? @MarkSiddallRIBA@ElrondBurrell@EsTresidder
Annual reminder:
The #PassivPortal from Santa’s Grotto uses top secret, patent pending stargate technology
With no impact on airtightness or fabric heat loss, homes without chimneys still get their stockings filled
Works for elves and the big man himself

@nimtimtim@lb_southwark Similar frustration to a scheme here in NorthernIreland, planning request removal of S facing overhanging eaves and brise-soleil for a clipped eaves detail. Both passive shading devices to prevent potential summer overheating, ‘cos the neighbours don’t have them! #narrowminded 🤬
Disappointing to see planning officers in @lb_southwark requesting we change a proposal from low-carbon timber frame/ timber & timber composite board cladding with a green roof to a brick & cement tile alternative with significantly higher embodied carbon and reduced performance
