@r_aunt2512 @WallStreetApes because a data centre is about 10 jobs... also will massively impact the enviroment causing to worsen the quality of life on top of strains like electricity and water which they use up. it will destroy the area nothing else.

Why wouldn't people want the data center? It's jobs in their community! High paying jobs with good benefits! More jobs brings more local taxes, demand for more housing, restaurants, good stores , etc! It will enrich the areas economy! I don't understand why people don't want jobs in their communities?

This is literally insane So many people showed up to oppose a $6 billion dollar data center in Missouri they had to use bleachers The whole crowd yells and chants they don’t want the data center Festus City Council voted to approve the data center anyway right in their faces

@_Unknown_D_ if its not going to exist for people under 35 who are funding it right now then why should it exist right now for all the 65+. the 65+ are getting way more out of it then they ever put in right now

I don't think anyone under the age of 35 should factor the state pension in to their retirement planning. Best to assume it won't exist.

@TigerTowns88 @sleathing2n then never should go out. only drink water and eat plain chicken and rice. like where does the line stop right. but also why not work an extra hour that was spent meal prepping that stacks up etc. see why people are having an issue with this entire mindset.

@RaidenFm @sleathing2n All relative isn't it. Even a few quid a week stacks up. But if it's a proper inconvenience then I can see why some would just consider it not worth the effort and that's fine too.

Actually it’s £3.85 for a meal deal with a Clubcard, 5 times a week for 47 weeks (statutory holiday entitlement for full time employment is 28 days per year in the uk) so that’s £904.75, which is cheaper than buying the individual ingredients to make the same food.
Slimfit@iSlimfit

British people will spend £4 on a meal deal every single working day, never cook, never calculate the annual total and then wonder why they can’t save. £4 a day is £1,040 a year. Eaten in a park. Under grey skies. In a triangle sandwich. This is not judgement. Just observation.

@TigerTowns88 @sleathing2n i would still need to buy water because our tap aint drinkable gives everybody in house headaches. so even then thats another lets say £4 across a week to buy enough extra water. all im trying to get at is it doesnt end up saving that much as people make out.

@RaidenFm @sleathing2n You can freeze meals if need be to avoid that scenario. I probably have 2 or 3 alternatives a week. I drink water generally speaking. No idea what the gas price would be for the hob but fair point. Don't require a side after a good hearty meal, but again, horses for courses.

@Clockwisesss Hardly an overhead and hardly a bleak existence Here in the UK we've just got far too comfortable with what we like to consider as "convenience foods". We have overplayed the inconvenience factor in justifying our purchase And £4 is at the absolute cheapest end of this industry

@MolloyLaurence @Clockwisesss erm did you really try and compare to Bento's lol you do realise they barely ever use chicken and 95% of their workforce eats out and does not cook at home.

@Clockwisesss A decent home-cooked lunch at half the cost is not a bleak existence. Heck, there was a time when that was considered a luxury. In some countries like Japan it is literally baked into their psyche - see Japanese Bento.

@TigerTowns88 @sleathing2n so stuck eating same meal every day... must be great. also that doesnt include a drink or side.. so i just worked out its about as you said £10 not including price for my oven which at current gas prices is crazy. still what about a drink and extra you get in a meal deal.

@RaidenFm @sleathing2n Chilli con carne, stir fry, curry's, any protein / rice / veggies. Plenty of options. They do take a bit of time but you can knock up a chilli over the course of w week and it would cost less than a tenner.

@NicholasTyrone well if they want to make money they need to hire so no it doesnt become high risk to employers otherwise they make fuck all. anybody complaining about this hasnt got a clue. companies can hire nobody but also means they will make no money at all.

When you make the minimum wage too high, you make it less likely that companies will create jobs. When you give employees day one rights, taking on employees becomes an extremely high risk proposition for employers. We should be making it easier to create jobs, not harder.

@RaidenFm No not at all. I meal prep everyday for work. Breakfast and lunch. I don’t get jealous when I see my co workers eating over priced sourdough toast from the cafe. Working in a city centre it’s so easy to be lazy and just pop out but at the end of month the miserable one is skint

@thejamieseymour @sleathing2n why not thats this entire point right. if you make your own stuff you can afford a house. why not literally get a 2nd or 3rd job and work every hour of the awake day. time spent cooking could be time spent earning its the exact same thing.

@Carm5012 @ScepticalSista making yourself maybe saves £2 a best. does that include time spent making it? even a minimum wage job could be paying £12.70+ so why make your own meal when you could be working those hours spent food prepping.

@ScepticalSista The price difference between home prepared lunches and shop bought ones is significant though - not going to buy you a house but will make quite a dent in getting a deposit.

This is one of the stingiest, most cheapskate, penny-pinching, ‘where’s-my-1p-change’, ‘don’t-forget-to-transfer-me-for-that-coffee’, tight arse, British peasant mentality statements I’ve ever seen.
