@Angelgut_s @asheuriii @realalpha2000 Do you agree with this ethical principle? If there is an option (A) that causes more suffering than the other (B) in question - the least-harm option (B) is also producing the same benefit - one should choose the option that causes least harm; otherwise, it's gratuitous.

@Angelgut_s @asheuriii @realalpha2000 "yes its my responsibility to harm my body and quality of life" Have you tried a plant-based diet yet? If not, then you can't even say that is the case. Numerous studies indicate that you live a higher quality of life and reduce a multitude of cardiovascular diseases on a WFPBD.

people are trying to argue with this and it’s literally the truth. a kilogram of beef requires over 15,000 litres of water to produce. a vegan who uses chatgpt every day is living a more sustainable lifestyle than someone who regularly eats beef while boycotting AI.
eva@_glorianas

that’s not most meat consumption, op 100% right, beef consumption is a hundred times more wasteful of water than data centres

@RaymanicRM @TMGFlorida @AmettaDoudi @PlantBasedNews I don't understand the view that people can only be kind to other living creatures if they think a god has told them to. Some people just naturally and instinctively feel kindness and compassion for all living things, even plants and trees, because that's how they are.

Where's the lie? 🙄 Animals just want to live their lives and be happy. Why can't we let them have that? ❤️

@TMGFlorida @AmettaDoudi @PlantBasedNews And, regarding the New Heaven and New Earth, the Bible describes it returning to the ideal Vegan state like in the Garden of Eden. So really, why not just strive to make an individual choice to align with God's ideal world? Why not aim to make the Earth as it is more heavenly?

@TMGFlorida @AmettaDoudi @PlantBasedNews Meat consumption isn't condemned in the Bible. However, treating animals like commodities that can be tortured and unnecessarily exploited like in factory farms isn't very biblical, doesn't show proper stewardship or compassion towards other creations of God.

@TMGFlorida @AmettaDoudi @PlantBasedNews Even then, when God says you have "dominion over the animals" he doesn't say "do whatever." He says you take care of them with stewardship and care. Nothing about putting them in factory farms, forcefully impregnating cows for milk, and cutting up millions of male chicks a day.

@TMGFlorida @AmettaDoudi @PlantBasedNews God made "The Garden of Eden" vegan. Wouldn't you want to strive to reduce unnecessary suffering and exploitation caused by humans toward animals so that you can make Earth as close to God's original vision as possible? Or does your taste/pleasure/convenience override that?

Livestock farming is a leading cause of deforestation. This is due to the fact that vast amounts of land are required to keep animals and grow their feed. It is thought that animal agriculture is responsible for around 91% of Amazon destruction. Chart: Benji Jones/Vox

@RealFoodRina If you actually want to reduce animal suffering and abolish factory farming while still eating meat, then you must advocate for lab-grown meat. Regenerative farming could work alongside it, but on it's own? Good luck. Again, pie-in-the-sky.

@RealFoodRina Again, you're arguing from an individual stance/choice when I'm looking at the bigger picture. There is no way a grass-fed, regenerative system will ever feed humans at the current level of demand. It is straight up impossible. It will at best feed rich people.

@RealFoodRina The argument for "regenerative agriculture" is a pie-in-the-sky fantasy that will never work. The only way you can sustain the current human demand for animal products is through factory farming, OR through lab-grown/cell-cultivated meat. Good luck, and think critically.

@RealFoodRina Considering we live in the CURRENT state of affairs where the above is true, then there is no justified reason to continue eating animal products when there are options that fulfill the principle of least harm (plant-based diets are healthy, plant-based alternatives, etc.)
