@ReubenR80027912 This has been a problem with literacy stats forever. They aren't subjected to common sense review. Look up how many U.S. citizens are allegedly functionally illiterate, then think of how many illiterate people you know/have ever met.

I refuse to believe that most Americans can not read at a 7th grade level If this is “true” then it means we are simply measuring literacy incorrectly; 163M Americans are actively employed Can your 6th grader read an employment contract? Read heavy machinery instructions?

If you have the basic skills to participate in the discourse at all — like you can read and comprehend a New York Times article in order to complain about it — you’re in a weird, out of touch, elite bubble. slowboring.com/p/in-defense-o…

@benlandautaylor How did it "have different results than every other revolution?" Doesn't seem that unusual at all.

The reason the American Revolution had results so different from every other revolution is that, properly speaking, the "American Revolution" wasn’t a revolution at all, it was a provincial rebellion. That is, it wasn’t a centralizing cadre dissolving and replacing the social order by means of violence directed from the core, it was a province breaking its allegiance to the capital while leaving the existing social structures basically intact.

@JohnGraysors1k @lutheranpeasant That wasn't the point you made. The point you made was .01% works for the minimum wage. I repeat, you were either lying or are stupid. Now you try to change the argument, but why should anyone argue with someone already caught lying. Enjoy your day.

@Reasonable68 @lutheranpeasant It doesn’t “work well”. In the states where minimum wage was increased drastically the cost of living increased drastically. Read again, and try to understand.
John Grayson@JohnGraysors1k

@Reasonable68 @lutheranpeasant Just to clarify, AR minimum wage is $7.25/hr WA is $17.63/hr Avg salary in WA is 60% higher than AR Avg cost of living is 120% higher than AR You can do this with other states like IL, CA, NY etc that raised their Minimum wage. Raising the MW has resulted in

@JohnGraysors1k @lutheranpeasant You said 80k, which you either knew was deceptive and wrong or you have no common sense whatsoever. You did so to support the OP's point that gov setting wages has little or no effect. Except it does for well over 10% of the workforce.

@LakerCj And people being disingenuous with stats is just as frustrating. The Laker's over/under for this year was 46. ESPN also projected the Lakers to win 46.

People who never played competitively are the only ones who bring up efficiency numbers without any context. Let’s talk about it then. The Lakers were projected to win 36 games by ESPN Before the playoffs started. Bill Simmons predicted they win 42 games this year. Luka is the bus driver and has led the Lakers and put them in a position to have home court in the first round. It’s truly pathetic how guys can’t enjoy watching basketball because god forbid a player shoots 9/20 and not 10/20 He’s shooting 48% from the field which is basically going 9.5/20 every game and he’s being blitzed and defended harder than anyone in the NBA and is still killing. Post All-Star break during this run he was shooting 45% from 3 on an insane volume which is incredible. But fans like this have been indoctrinated to hate basketball because they don’t have the bandwidth to actually know what they’re watching. It’s why Luka fans get so upset when someone like Wilbon gets on national TV..AND IGNORES EVERYTHING I JUST MENTIONED. Just tell me you hate basketball and are only concerned about hate watching
PLATY@PLATY_sol

@LakerCj I genuinely don’t think so. Yes his numbers pop out, but to get them he’s had to take over 200 more shots than the next on the list since all star break Also his efficiency is just so poor it’s pure crazy volume and imo can’t equate to winning a chip

@dredaylives @redrock_bball So players in a notoriously abusive sport where hundreds experience brain damage and long-lasting orthopaedic damage should be the standard?

You realize this rule to stop fans being ‘screwed’ didn’t in fact make players miss fewer games. It’s almost like the problem was overblown by people with a nefarious agenda, who don’t understand the situation at all, and then a garbage rule was introduced which provided no positive and only negative which was plainly visible at the time.
Justin Termine@TermineRadio

For years fans got screwed by players sitting. Now that players are getting screwed the NBAPA is upset. Too bad they didn't care as much when it was the fans getting the short-end of the stick---then we'd never be in this spot. Love the rule. Glad NBA did something for fans.

@JohnGraysors1k @lutheranpeasant Just to clarify, you are using statistics dishonestly because you ignore that most places the min wage is higher than 7.25. On Jan. 1, 19 states raised their minimum wage, which resulted in 8.3 million people getting a raise. epi.org/blog/over-8-3-…

@lutheranpeasant Just to clarify… 0.1% of the workforce works for minimum wage ($7.25/hr). Yes. 82,000 of >80,000,000 in the workforce. Not 1%…. 0.1%. It’s really a non-issue. The market driving wages has been better than the govt determining wages.

@ubuto23 @estherzelda0514 Sure because there were no polls on this before. This is someone who had a conversation with the leaders of his party and donors and "changed" his mind to facilitate becoming the nominee.

@Nowooski Establishment will not let serious candidates move left on Israel. Only a candidate with a sincerely held belief they won't move off will do that. You can see today how they already forced Newsome to kowtow. Not that he was a bastion of integrity or anything.

@Reasonable68 @philfanacc No it doesn’t. The Supermax gives players a 35% max contract. Players who have over 10 years experience get a 35% max anyway. Jokić has 11 years experience. He can get a supermax regardless of awards. Nothing changes for him

alotta y’all are just lying about why the 65 game rule was created , it wasn’t to slight Embiid or whatever it was to stop the “load management” that literally didn’t exist for any player besides Kawhi who had chronic knee cancer anyway

@Stifle_Tower27 Sengun is an offense only player who has Kevin Durant on his team and their offense still stinks. He isn't Jokic 2.0, he's Domantis Sabonis without the rebounding.

@GrooveyMacc @philfanacc It doesn't though. Not since Dillon Brooks was hurt. The 3-6 teams have been set for a long time and Den was fine with Jokic out. On the day Jokic came back, the Nuggets were one game out of 2nd. Exactly where they were before he went out. No reason to rush back for seeding.

@philfanacc He came back early, as show by how poorly he played when he came back. If he plays every game they have left, he will have played 66 games. You think thats a coincidence?
