@NinaVincoffMD I always prefer a text over a call. AND it’s a great way to multitask (3-4 conversations at once, in between cases).

Have we reached a point where all phone calls except emergencies must be preceded by a text asking if the person is free to talk? Is calling someone without getting permission now considered rude?

@j_thePA I’ve gotten written up twice. Never were those conversations belittling or using inappropriate language. I think women get written up a lot. By other women. This is my experience. Others may differ.

Can we talk about how stupid and downright childish it is for adults that work in a hospital to write up other adults that work in the hospital?

Sometimes overnight lysis is all you need. Thoughts on EKOS vs regular infusion catheter?

We will not celebrate hate speech, bigotry, and division. Lowering the flag should always reflect unity, not division, and raising our standards, not lowering them. Our flags will remain flying high to celebrate the American values of diversity, inclusion, and respect for all.

Lowering to half-staff the flag of the United States of America is a sacred honor for fallen heroes — not a partisan political tool. Therefore, I will notify all state offices under my direction to disregard @GovRonDeSantis' forthcoming order to lower flags for Rush Limbaugh.

Compassionate care is essential care. Intractable abdominal pain due to #PancreaticCancer relieved with an image-guided celiac plexus block by interventional radiology (#IRad) @uab_ir. #Patient was able to sleep for the first time in weeks & was able to be discharged.

@NinaVincoffMD Always. So annoying... They’re just so programmed to assume we’re not the physician, because of the anatomy...

The great thing about interventional oncology treatments is that, if needed, they can easily be repeated. Ablation also does not ruin the option to get a surgery at a later point in time
AJ Gunn@ajgunnmd

If repeat ablations are considered, there is essentially no difference in oncologic outcomes between partial nephrectomy and image-guided ablation from interventional radiology (#IRad) This #patient had their #kidneycancer treated @uab_ir using @AngioDynamics probes

Last night IR resident asked me to speak to MICU resident about mutual pt by phone. Presumably, he knew I was att doc. He ID’ed himself as “Dr. X.” ID’ed myself as “First+Last name, IR attending.” How do YOU introduce yourself to another doc? Other care provider? #TitleOrNot

@ParetsMD @arthung Agreed. Just ignore them and continue to do your best. They’ll come around (or not, in which case, sadly, their patients will pay the price)...

@arthung Well i thought it was a knowledge issue but my husband is also an R1 #RadRes and in general he gets the above phrase far less than me. I find it suspicious and I’m questioning more and more if I don’t get this type of thing because I sound like a woman (and young) on the phone.
