Good question. Based on quality of contact and walks, the Tigers were estimated >16 bases, while the Cardinals only ~12. However, the Cardinals ended up only having 9 total bases in the game, while the Tigers had 17. So this is an odd case where the Tigers over performed their est bases while the Cardinals underperformed. In the end, the Cardinals ended up winning with 8 fewer bases which is likely a result of sequencing. This is a new img for me so feedback like this is helpful. I might have to reword the "lucky" portion

I get Dustin May hasn't really looked very good but its only 2 starts too small of a sample size to make Judgements. I'll give him another 2 or 3 people i judge him. #Stlcards

Maybe the Cardinals just need a team to go up six or seven on them to get going every game

David Freese in 2011: .297/.350/.441 (.791 OPS) in the reg season .397/.465/.794 (1.258 OPS) in the postseason .348/.464/.696 (1.160 OPS) in the postseason Everybody remembers Game 6 but Freese had some insane numbers in that 2011 postseason run too. It’s crazy how similar Freese and Napolis lines were. Without Game 6, Napoli was easily the WS MVP.

Mike Napoli in 2011: .320/.414/.631 (1.046 OPS) in the reg season .328/.414/.500 (.914 OPS) in the postseason .350/.464/.700 (1.164 OPS) in the World Series Just an insane run to the World Series with Texas, an absolute one-man wrecking crew that St. Louis took 7 games to quell
Not Gaetti@notgaetti

Not enough people talk about Mike Napoli • .246/.346/.475 (.821 OPS), 117 OPS+ • 2012 All-Star, 2013 WS Champion • Had 3 separate stints with TEX • Drafted by Anaheim in 2000 • 26.4 WAR, 267 HR, 744 RBI • Reached 30 HR 2x, 20 HR 8x • Averaged 31 HR, 87 RBI per 162 • Homered in his MLB debut in 2006 • (Against 23-year-old Justin Verlander) • Incredible stadium chant of "NAP-O-LI" • Hit 8th in 1st and last games (circle of life) • Received 1 HOF vote (389 ballots) in 2023 • Outstanding 2011 (regular season & playoffs) • #1 Similarity Score: Ranger great Dean Palmer • Mike Napoli has the fourth-most home runs across a player's final two seasons in MLB history; he is 1 of 7 to hit at least 60 and 1 of 10 to hit at least 50 across his final two big league campaigns, and it's an interesting list Subscriber nomination by @billyflan

@TigersJUK Chip has a few sort of inside jokes that he goes to pretty much every game. He makes an effort to say “RISP” multiple times a game. He also always subtly calls out pitch number 69. Just part of his style. lol

Me explaining to my coworker that the Cardinals are actually good this year while knowing deep down our rotation is five guys he’s never heard of and a bullpen held together by vibes. #STLCards

@PiratesStrong @DKSportsbook It’s a great deal for the Pirates and Griffin. I’m genuinely happy for you guys and hope the Cards do something similar for Wetherholt. But the fact that they reached a deal with him so quickly only makes it harder to believe that Skenes wants to stay in Pittsburgh.
