I’ve been thinking about this tweet a lot lately, and agreeing with it more and more as time passes since the Olympic break.
Jack Hughes is a top-five, at worst, talent in the National Hockey League.

Assuming full health, I think Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon are the only NHL players I am 100% sure are better than Jack Hughes. And I don't think there's a reasonable argument for having him any lower than 5th.

@AdamZHerman He looks good against regular season replacement NHL players. Playoffs and 4 nations shows he's just a big box score. He's not even close to top 5. Top 40, maybe. Shouldn't be on the Olympic roster imo.

At its core, this feels like the crux of the problem.
Can’t trade Jack, he’s untouchable.
Can’t trade Nico, he’s the heart and soul of this team. Amazing captain apparently
Can’t trade Bratt, he’s elite and led the devs in scoring last X years
Can’t trade Timo. He’s a playoff player!
Can’t trade Mercer. He’s iron man!
Can’t trade Luke, he’s jacks brother and it would piss Jack off!
But then we think “something about this core needs to change.”
I don’t get it. Everyone not named Jack should be up for grabs and I’d even trade Jack if the right offer came along.

Does not make an iota of sense to me that the #NHLBruins of all teams want to turn arguably the best center prospect in the sport to a winger at first.

A few takeaways from Hagens and Mougenel's comments after practice: -Bruins organization wants Hagens to start at wing and he will play wing in Providence -Hagens said McAvoy sent him a nice text after hearing about the signing -Hagens still wants to finish his degree at BC (and says his stuff is still all in his dorm)
