Some thoughts on Dallas Goedert returning: ** My guess is this move opens up a decent chunk of salary cap space for the Eagles. Goedert was set to be a $20.5 million dead cap hit on the books if he left. That likely changes now. ** A bit surprising the Eagles are going to go into next season with the same TE 1 and TE2 (Calcaterra) as last season after Howie Roseman admitted their room needed new skill sets. Doesn’t seem that will happen outside of Mundt. ** Fans always want the players that play for their team to want to be on their team as much as they love their team. That is the case with Goedert. He really, really wanted to be back with the Eagles. Despite the roller coaster with his contract over the past few years he has always wanted to stay with the Eagles. ** Goedert was probably the best player on the offense last season. Borderline carried the team in the red zone. ** I think its a good thing in a year where they are going to add new wrinkles to the offense that Jalen Hurts has as much chemistry with his pass catchers as possible. Hurts now has both Devonta and Goedert to lean on (and we’ll see about AJ) ** It’s been made pretty clear through multiple reports that Goedert and AJ are connected. Well, Goedert is back. Now we wait to see about AJ.

While I’m not saying Carlos Rodrìguez is leaps and bounds better than Jarred Kelenic, his OPS is nearly 100 points higher because of his contact ability. Seems like you would want to replace Ronald with someone who can get on base more frequently but I guess splitting hairs
