@Sdmann0502 In many cases, yes! Sports, news, PBS, some animation are all covered outside of this contract (even though some are WGA). To your second question: A few shows did that in 2007-2008, but I don't think the WGA is making those deals this time.

@joshgondelman Got it! So if a show didn’t have WGA writers then it would be fine? Could she - or other daytime shows- just meet the demands of the strike for her particular show and that would be ok?? Or still not since thats not a systematic change. Thanks Josh!!

@Sdmann0502 This is a great question, and the answer is two-fold: 1. We are picketing The View as well! We’ll be back there on Wednesday. 2. There are different categories of shows under the contract, but several daytime shows have WGA writers who are striking.
