otherwise good report but donie, i'm very dissapointed you did not do more due diligence on any claims she made about net profits and let it air like it's fact. it's been proven the faked dashboard screen recordings showing that showed her making 100m annually. no doubt she's a millionaire but she's incentivized to use media to further her lies about her income because she's connected to OF agencies who try to recruit women into becoming OF creators. having an insane lie like pretending to have 9 figures in net profits air on cnn lets the agency she's associated use her fake revenue numbers reported on by cnn as social proof to try to recruit girls who'd hope to make as much money as her.

The Lever has been working for weeks on this big story. We published it this morning. Hours later, Vanity Fair published a story with not even a passing reference to our reporting.

We asked people around the world to rate the morality and ethics of others in their country. The U.S. is the only place we surveyed where more adults describe the morality and ethics of others living in the country as bad than good. See our full morality report here: pewresearch.org/religion/2026/…

McDonald's CEO is still clearing. I've now even come around on the OG viral video of his. We simply didn't understand his game... HE IS A CEO - it's a product to him. Apparently someone in the test kitchen asked what his favorite food was and he just said, "Fish, I eat a lot of fish." Didn't even think to answer with an item that the company he's the CEO of produces. This is a raw input:output organism we're dealing with Burger King CEO went for the obvious transparent burgermogging attempt by taking a bigger bite. So obviously a mog attempt that it actually puts him below McDonald's CEO because he "tried." Wendy's CEO attempt is a nothingburger. It lacks the autistic CEO authenticity of McDonald's and even the obvious marketing move of Burger King There's also the first mover advantage here. McDonald's CEO is gaining status with every subsequent CEO validating his format by recreating it We seriously underestimated this man
FearBuck@FearedBuck

Wendy’s U.S. president takes a few bites of a Wendy’s burger after the Burger King CEO went viral for taking a huge bite of his burger and the McDonald’s CEO went viral for barely taking a bite.

It also drives up borrowing costs. When no one is watching the public ledger, investors treat cities as higher risk and demand higher yields. Municipal borrowing costs increase by 5 to 11 basis points—roughly $650,000 in added cost per bond issue. Taxpayers absorb this.

@billybinion Fewer than 1000 people in America account for over $7 trillion in net worth. Using your numbers, that’s more than 70 years of SNAP benefits. Of course taxing the rich to end poverty is a serious proposition to anyone who does math.

The U.S. government spent over $7 trillion last year. More than $100 billion of that went to SNAP alone. Many billions more went to homelessness (before you even count state and local spending). “Just tax the rich to end poverty” isn’t a serious theory of how poverty works.
Team Talarico@TeamTalaricoHQ

.@JamesTalarico: The reason poverty exists in the wealthiest country on Earth is not because we can't feed the poor. It's because we can't satisfy the rich. Elon Musk is about to become the first trillionaire. He's about to make more money than every elementary school teacher in America combined. Do we really believe one man is worth more than every elementary school teacher? Why do we have a trillionaire when there are kids without enough to eat, cancer patients going bankrupt, and veterans sleeping on the street? I'm all for success, but this is not success. This is hoarding. What leads a person to accumulate more money than they could possibly spend in 100 lifetimes when there are people starving in this one? What we can do is tax trillionaires out of existence and use that money to guarantee food, healthcare, and housing for every single American.

Founder of @signalapp, @moxie Marlinspike on Telegram:   "Telegrams not a private messenger. There's nothing private about it. It's the opposite. It's a cloud messenger where every message you've ever sent or received is in plain text in a database that telegram the organization controls and has access to it" "It's like 'Russian oligarch starts unencrypted version of WhatsApp', a pixel for pixel clone of WhatsApp. That should be kind of a difficult brand to operate. And somehow, they've done a really amazing job of convincing the whole world that this is an encrypted messaging app and that the founder is some kind of Russian dissident, even though he goes there once a month, the whole team lives there, and their families are there." " What happened in France is they just chose not to respond to the subpoena. And so that's in violation of the law. And, he gets arrested in France, right? And everyone's like, oh, France, but I think the key point is they have the data, like they can respond to the subpoenas where as Signal, for instance, doesn't have access to the data and couldn't respond to that same request.  To me it's very obvious that Russia would've had a much less polite version of that conversation with Pavel Durov and the telegram team before this moment. @DKThomp @AlecMacGillis Skimmed the paper, two things that might be obscured by these graphs: 1) the US offers more ways to effectively lower your “income”; 2) US has many more billionaires somewhat reducing outlier effects seen in the reference countries here.
