@lilyraynyc @JohnnyHerge Adding to this, I've found that you can add social profiles in the Knowledge Graph by simply submitting feedback. By including the social URLs in both the 'details' section and the accompanying links, the update often reflects within a few hours appearing in the Google Profile.

@glenngabe I've noticed this issue too, and not just with CWV, but also with HTTPS, Breadcrumbs, and Review Snippets. It's worth noting, though, that the number of indexed pages has remained consistent

This is a weird one. Looks like the number of sampled urls dropped in the CWV reporting. Also, I see some sites that are pretty much unaffected by the change (where the number of sampled urls is about the same). Barry Pollard provided some more info a few minutes ago. E.g. "The GSC graphs in Barry Schwartz's post do NOT appear to me to show Core Web Vitals regressing, but instead a drop in the number of URLs with eligible Core Web Vitals. A subtle difference, but an important one."
Barry Schwartz@rustybrick

Google Search Console core web vitals update - weird drops on July 11th or so - might be a bug but Google's @JohnMu says not so but Barry Pollard from Google is investigating seroundtable.com/google-core-we… via @rrubio9

@xakpc oh this is also right up there. I wonder if Google even penalizes your domain if you have too many backlinks like these

@natejhake In August 2024, my website actually saw a recovery in traffic, but then yes, it did revert to previous levels. This time, however, I've regained all rich snippets in the SERPs, and my site is even being cited in AI Overviews. Let's not paint everyone with the same brush.

Indie publishers - if you’re still following every Google update with baited breath, imho you’re doing it wrong Somehow people have already forgotten this exact same thing happened last August to many HCU sites (including to us) and yet then in the months after, everything reverted to the prior trend

OK, who is with me? :) -> The Case for ASC: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and others need to build AI Search Console reporting ASAP to provide site owners much-needed AI Search data In my latest post, I explain how AI Search platforms should build their own version of Google Search Console. I cover what AI Search Console (ASC) could contain, the value it would bring site owners, AND the value it would bring those AI platforms. Like I said in my post, we need ASC... like yesterday. gsqi.com/marketing-blog…

@glenngabe Hi @glenngabe , Quick update: I’m seeing some growth in review snippet impressions from GSC, but still far from the 10-20k daily impressions I had before the HCU. If useful for your research, I’m open to sharing some data privately. By the way, it’s an Italian website.

@Stefano_24_ Very interesting, especially since I noticed a ton of volatility for sites impacted by previous reviews updates. :)

Good Morning Google Land! This is the July 1st edition of 'Core Update Notes'. From what I can see, the June 2025 core update has not landed yet (which is pretty normal). It usually takes 24-48 hours to start seeing impact. But... after checking the visibility numbers for a few thousand sites that have been impacted by previous major algorithm updates, I noticed a number of sites impacted by Reviews updates over time have seen a lot of volatility recently. And that has me wondering if Google pushed a Reviews update right before the core update... Remember, Google's reviews system is now updated on a 'regular and ongoing basis' and they don't announce when those updates happen. It's just interesting to see a lot of volatility on sites impacted by previous Reviews updates recently. Some examples are below. I'll share more about the core update as I surface more findings. Stay tuned.

@gaganghotra_ @Okayy_Dan Ask why he could not access the site. I did a test myself on my site that does not appear among the sources on Gemini, and his answer was really interesting!

@Okayy_Dan SIGH its fanning out to other sources automatically even though I asked about your site. HCU classifier exists in it too ☠️

Maybe Google is just the only platform that doesn't understand good, helpful, satisfactory, [insert positive adjective here], content.

@glenngabe @rustybrick Ok, thanks for your feedback. I’ve heard from others in Italy experiencing the same issue — it might be a temporary regional problem with Google Discover.

I report that in Italy Google Discover has not been working properly for about 20 minutes. @rustybrick can you tell me if you have received other reports? I’m only seeing 3 articles right now.

@searchliaison From what I understand, AI Overviews are influenced by structured data. Could this be why my site doesn’t appear in any of them—not even when searching for the site itself? All my structured data was removed from Google since March 2023. Thanks 🙏🏻
