Good sir, I'm not moving the goalposts or dodging. My question remains straightforward: Joseph called the Book of Mormon 'the most correct book on earth,' translated 'by the gift and power of God.' Yet it has thousands of post-publication changes.
If it was divinely translated, I'm sure any chiasmus (or other literary features) is being used by God for a reason. But that doesn't explain or resolve why a divine translation needed corrections afterward. Those are separate issues: one about authorship style, the other about the reliability of the final text.

I disagree strongly with those who argue Joseph Smith was not a polygamist. The historical evidence is too strong imo. But I don't think having wrong opinions is alone grounds for losing your membership in the church.
(Also, we don't call it excommunication anymore.)

The church should excommunicate anyone who teaches at the polygamy conference that Joseph did not practice polygamy along with anyone who publicly teaches it online. Plural marriage is still a doctrine in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints even if it is an exception and not the rule in matters of marital practice. I make no apologies.
