@ESPNAusNZ Why are you advertising MLB highlights then showing another college basketball game, which I gather you have been doing all day. Just wasting people’s time.

@NoContextCounty Marshall v similar figures over his best 10 years, 342 wkts @ 19.9 - 20.0 @ home, 19.7 away. But never had to bowl against best batting team of the decade - his own.
English

@NoContextCounty Richard Hadlee or M Marshall. Hadlee’s last 10 years 1979-89 (overlapping most of Marshall’s career): 251 wickets @ 19.5- 21.3 home, 19.1 away [excludes even better no.s vs a weak Sri Lanka]? Led NZ to 1st series wins over WI, Aus, Ind & Eng. Worst ave vs any country- 23.7 v Eng

@nic_savage1 @FoxCricket Very hard to understand why, given NSW has produced but far the biggest and best crop of Test players over time, thanks to population size and excellent climatic conditions (alongside WA and SA). Reasons usually at the grassroots - state coaches can hardly make a big difference.
English

Australian men's Test debutants since 2017:
Western Australia - 6
South Australia - 5
Victoria - 5
Queensland - 4
Tasmania - 2
NSW - 2
Brad Haddin: "I'm under no illusions that I've got to start to produce some Australian players."

@AussiesArmy Trevor Goddard possibly for Test cricket, also Shaun Pollock. Rank 6th and 7th in this analysis of all rounders. And Keith Miller, whose greatness is under appreciated - ranks ahead of Kallis.

@EcoVibeExplorer @AussiesArmy Not much of a batsmen, occasional greatness in the field hardly made up for it.
English

@AussiesArmy Can we consider "Jonty Rhodes" as all rounder?
Scored runs
Saved runs with fielding
Got wickets with exceptional catches and run outs..
What else we need from an All rounder?

@WG_RumblePants @davidpatrickla1 “Iconic”. What butchering of the language is that? An image to be revered? Ugly SA accent akin to fingernails on blackboard. But a good commentator much of the time, without much technical insight.
English

@RandomGooner74 @WG_RumblePants Oh no, don’t say Botham. A real bloviator.
English

@WG_RumblePants Didn't Richie tear Australia to bits once for underarm bowling the last ball of an ODI v NZ?
Immense integrity.
I was too young to hear him much, sadly.
Other great voices...Holding, Gower, Warne, Atherton, Hussein, Willis & Botham.
Shout out for Mel Jones, too. Lovely voice.

England and NZ bowled first in SF and Final. By bowling first you risk giving the initiative to the opponent on good pitches which India gladly accepted and outbatted them. #T20WorldCup26
Wasim Jaffer@WasimJaffer14
Why are teams so obsessed with bowling first in T20s? SA won the toss and fielded in the first game, lost. India did the same yesterday, lost. Both sides that batted first won comfortably. On good pitches, is “fielding first” becoming an overrated T20 myth? #INDvSA

@CricCrazyJohns No, it’s 8 to 5. Champions trophy can’t be compared to serious competitions.
English

@Shahhoon1 If you think Kohli is better than Bradman you are a few sandwiches short of a picnic. He’s not even as good as Greg Chappell, Smith or Ponting.
English

@joybhattacharj Very odd. There were hardly any Indians or Pakistanis in Australia at that time. I wouldn’t have guessed what it meant. Nobody would have associated them with bus conductors - more like doctors, accountants or civil servants, maybe shopkeepers.
English

On this day 41 years ago, when India played Pakistan in the finals of the World Championship of Cricket in Melbourne, this was a sign displayed in the stands.
Today, there is no chance such a racist banner would be allowed in a game, and absolutely no chance the broadcast team would put it on air and think it was funny.
I remember seeing it then and wondering how they got away with it.

English

@SergassoC @cricketingview Batters much more likely to move on the crease to change the angles.
Batters with far faster reflexes and a much wider array of shots that they've practiced.
Batters with much more strength and power who practice hitting sixes so their mishits often still clear the field.
English

@Ayyappan_1504 Oh f*ck off. India has 280 times as many people as they do.
English

@TUnlimitedd 8? Surely you don’t the rubbish Champions Trophy can compare to an ODI World Cup or the WTC? No one serious remembers them at all.
English

@day6596 They were NOT happy at about Aus winning a lot in 1999-2007. But India isn’t winning everything- yet. Just a couple of T20s, the most fickle form of cricket. They lost last CWC and didn’t make WTC final. Might win a lot more, but not sure they have depth in bowling as batting.
English

Racist English morons is not liking brown Indian dominating the sport after a decade of heartbreaks when IND lost 9 knockouts b/w 2013-2023 including 5 finals. These racist were very happy when AUS was humiliating World Cricket b/w 199-2011

International cricket is going to get very boring if India wins absolutely everything. It’s not good for the sport at all. #T20WorldCup
