This choice strays far from the books and has disappointed millions of loyal fans @jk_rowling @wbd @HBO @Caseybloys please honor your promise to stay true to the source material. #recastsnape immediately! Fans don’t want Essiedu as Snape. Snape was clearly described in the books as a white man with sallow skin the colour of sour milk, sometimes marble white, a pale complexion, a hooked nose and long greasy black hair.
