From a position standpoint, priority #1 for the Oilers will be a goalie. Cossa will be the target. If they can make that happen, it'll be him & Jarry. Which means they would've had the Oil Kings three best goalies 😆 Option #2; they call the Jets & ask about Hellebuyck.

We get it that this fan base is far from in love with Nurse and many would like him traded but easier said than done. Edm would likely have to eat a substantial part of his $9.25m AAV and/or attach significant draft pick. And I just don’t see Darnell gladly waiving his no-trade

Sorry, I don't buy the "It is hard to get a goalie" scenario. Sure it is hard, but far from impossible. Good scouting helps. Ask the Flyers. Dan Vladar at $3.35m has paid off HUGE for them. Oilers need to be better at scouting goalies.

Would Oilers have been better off to sign Corey Perry last July 1 even if it seemed gulp at $3.5m with his attainable games played bonuses? Yup in hindsight even at 40. He had 37 points. They signed Mangiapane for $3.6m x 2 and wound up attaching 1st rounder for Dickinson, Dach
