Our laws to help consumers get a fair go at the petrol pump passed the Parliament this week. We've doubled penalties for petrol price gouging, because there's simply no excuse.

Great to see people and organisations from our community recognised and representing us on the national stage. This week in Parliament, I met with the @ServicesUnion, Abeeda from Redbank Plains State High School, Ipswich band LanGwij, and Collingwood Park Power Junior AFC.

Great to drop into the Bundamba @Salvos 140th Anniversary celebrations on the weekend to join in the fellowship and check out the historical memorabilia. An incredible milestone for this pillar of the Ipswich community. Happy 140th anniversary and here's to many more!

Wonderful to attend the induction of new Ipswich Catholic Community Parish Priest Father Bernard Thomas this morning at St Mary’s Church with Wendy Bourne MP. The Installation Mass was presided over by Brisbane Archbishop Shane Mackinlay. Welcome Fr Bernie!

An excellent Vedanta Centre Harmony Day panel discussion today with Race Discrimination Commissioner Giridharan Sivaraman and other community leaders. Thank you to the Vedanta Centre and Swami Atmeshananda for another great @springfieldQLD community event.

Proud to cut the ribbon on the new Independent Liquor Group (ILG) Swanbank Distribution Centre this week. This $35M investment will create over 400 local jobs in Ipswich, and support 500 small and family-owned businesses, and local communities across QLD.

Great to chat to the citizenship class at Staines Memorial College Community Hub this week and talk to students about government and my role as a federal MP. The Albanese Government supports hubs to provide activities and support to local communities - it's a fantastic service.

There are many people in my community living with Huntington's Disease. So it was good to meet with Huntington's Australia this week to talk about their education and advocacy work across Queensland, including social activities they provide in Ipswich.

Fantastic to attend the Future Forgeworks Swanbank Steel Mill sod turn. This is QLD’s first ever steel mill, producing green steel for the construction industry. It's an exciting development that will deliver hundreds of local jobs in Ipswich and a Future Made in Australia.

The Albanese Government is investing in much-needed social housing in our fast-growing Ipswich region🏠 Great to visit a new project under construction in North Ipswich today - backed by $14.2M in federal funding - that will support vulnerable Queenslanders. @ClareONeilMP

Another big week in Parliament - from meetings with the Estonian Foreign Minister, African diplomats and QLD transport workers, to attending JBS and School Chaplain events. A highlight was receiving a replica parliamentary mace from the Speaker @MiltonDickMP! @TWUAus

@TWUAus brought aviation workers to Parliament to discuss great Labor Govt achievements while outlining so much more to do. Great to catch up with my mate Josh Millroy @TWUQueensland

Caught up with fellow QLD @AustralianLabor MPs and Senators in Canberra today to talk about priorities for our state. We met with Federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine King to talk about QLD infrastructure projects before I gave a speech in Parliament on key Blair projects.

Recently dropped in to the Ipswich Service Centre to meet the staff and see the new facilities designed to make it easier to access services. A great example of how the Albanese Government's investments in Services Australia have meant less waiting and more support. @myGovau

The Springfield Mater Chicks in Pink Fun Run is always a great way to celebrate International Women’s Day🏃‍♀️ Today we raised $88,000 to improve care and research for people with breast cancer 💗 Thanks to Queensland X-Ray for the support and everyone who came out 👏

Three-peat here we come! Willing on the @brisbanelions in their Opening Round clash against Western Bulldogs at the Gabba tonight with @AnthonyChisholm and Cr @NicoleJonic. Fantastic to run into Ipswich superstars Gout Gout, Jonathan Kasiano and coach Di Sheppard.
