I know a surgical resident in the teaching hospital in my state that covers shifts in two private hospitals and runs basic procedures there. We have 2-3 consultants that are always ready to come for our serious emergencies. Another consultant I know works in an FMC, teaches in another private medical school and covers 2 weekends in one big private hospital in another state. But yes, no male surgical residents lives like this. Dundee united.
