De fato ninguém pediu um South of Midnight, e é justamente isso que o torna especial. Se a indústria só produzisse o que as pessoas já sabem que querem, nunca existiriam novas franquias.
O problema não é a existência de jogos como South of Midnight, mas a incapacidade da Microsoft de transformá-los em eventos. Você cria uma IP nova, com identidade visual própria, ambientação única e potencial para ampliar o catálogo da marca, mas não investe o suficiente em marketing para criar o desejo de jogar.
Hi-Fi Rush é outro exemplo. Ninguém estava pedindo aquele jogo porque ninguém sabia que ele existia. Mesmo assim, foi extremamente bem recebido pela crítica e pelo público e virou uma das propriedades mais elogiadas do Xbox nos últimos anos.
Se a conclusão for que só vale produzir sequências e franquias já estabelecidas, a indústria entra em um ciclo onde ninguém cria o próximo sucesso. Toda grande franquia começou como um projeto que ninguém pediu.

More layoffs and expect even more. COVID had given the game industry this false sense of security. Those lockdowns saw a massive surge in game purchases and subscription services.
They thought we were going to be locked in our home for the next 10 years. They decided to do massive hirings, and acquiring big studios. They were hiring their best friends, and creating useless departments within their studios for these people.
Let's not forget the ESG money that allowed studios to push the trash they were shitting out left and right.
What you see now is the collapse of it all. Now it's time to downsize to match what the actual market reflects.

Flash actually died for an incredibly stupid reason: Apple wouldn't support it on iPhones.
Since every website wanted to be compatible with iPhones, they stopped using Flash, and now an entire generation of indie games is just gone forever.

Yup. They hate sisters of battle and to a slightly lesser extent sisters of silence because they appeal to the “male gaze”. Essentially in their mind female characters should be ugly because women are ugly in real life… Or something. Which is why they push for female custodes/space marines because they are basically “women” who just look either horrid or like men with bigger cheekbones lol

The only people who hate the Sisters of Battle are weirdos who want female Space Marines. Also the reason the Pentience animation caught flak is because it was bad. It was an insult to the Sororitas.

I think it's pretty sad that a lot of newer Warhammer fans dislike the sororitas from the get go because of their zeal without giving them a bit of narrative grace , I was recently looking at discussions for the animation featuring them and they got a lot of flak for being strict

@HMBohemond Sisters of Battle unironically got some grace with their story. Started from being a zealot guard for a very horny yet crazy/stupid dude. To being an apex of human fervor and few becoming the greater deamons of Imperium dude to their faith was so powerful.
