Pub 3311, Corn Mill, Llangollen. Brunning & Price alert, but an exciting one as it is up n down rather than sweeping lengthways. Beer a bit floppy. Staff v nice but I still feel like blot on landscape! The genius of Bridgnorth yesterday seems a long way away.

Pub 3284, Voodoo Keller Bar, Chelmsford. It was a bit weird like if Newcastle Head of Steam was less convincing. Good drunkness throughout. Music Smashmouth, Offspring, BRAPA Roach. Took me back 😍 xxx

Pub 3211, Brighton Bierhaus. Brighton's weird obsession with the word Haus continues at this delicately poised classy Euro bar, full of stodgy wideboys. Had a cinder toffee panic but barmaid assures me it is on, the handpumps is just a bit floppy.

Pub 3185, Three Hammers, Chiswell Green. J.Bowen, R.Protz and S.Dewhurst are my faves. Ember! Knew as soon as I saw that carpet. But amazingly upbeat n friendly apart from initial barmaid. Pride drinking like spiky soup.

Pub 3181, Surrey Docks, Rotherhithe. Cloudy warm Portbello's have been the bane of my week. Staff arent in control, serving from a tiny specific area of bar ain't helping. Jnr Meewaw fan struggles to understand concept of pushing in. But his hat is nicely jaunty. Carpet 7.

@BeerPrimeUK @SambrooksBrew @RamBrewery Great to hear John is still brewing - he gave me a tour of the brewery in his trademark white science apron a couple of years back. A true British beer hero.

Last time I was here at @SambrooksBrew was to interview John Hatch for the podcast. It was a Monday and the place was closed and empty. It’s very busy tonight, which is great. I’ve had one of John’s @RamBrewery beers - Double Deal - and a Sambrook’s brew, Stratus. Both great!

A good start to our 10 hours plus train journey to Sofia as we are still in the station 40 minutes after the scheduled departure time! Fully occupied compartment of 6. And it's very hot!
