@Jamie_ORourke @saylordocs Oh damn. Sorry dude, the tax laws in the UK are much different than the US. In the US if you're outside a certain mile radius and can prove you have no choice but to commute you may be able to write off the miles driving at a set price. Same with meals, usually business related.

HOT TAKE: If businesses only have to pay taxes on profit, not revenue, then I should only have to pay taxes after I’ve paid all my bills and rent.

The entire situation should have been avoided and talked out. If you're armed you have a responsibility to attempt to deescalate the situation. The shootee didn't really give the shooter time to plan anything differently. I didn't see the shooter's face but he appeared to be quite startled by the attack. Startled people will react, sometimes violently. As for putting the guy in a headlock, a violent person attacked you, who's to say he doesn't have a knife or other weapon. Are you willing to bet your life on it? Finally, I was a bouncer in my youth. We had an evening where a man came looking for his girlfriend who happened to be with another gentleman. He started something. I tackled him and put him in a headlock. He started pulling his pistol and one of my guys pounced on him and took his weapon. He also had brass knuckles and an 8" knife. My point is you don't know what you're getting into when you have to go physical. The best practice is to try to avoid these types of situations. Sometimes it's just not possible. When that occurs bad things tend to happen. I'm sad this guy got shot; and for such a crappy reason at that. But you can't assault people, period.

@SlingForAmerica @German07091 @7why__ydm Americans are fucking mental 😂😂 imagine justifying this. It was the most pathetic punch in the world, just get the guy in a headlock and pin him to the ground like a fucking normal person.

It's not my eyes you have to convince. Manslaughter is the inadvertent killing of another. You killed him but you didn't mean to. This man was killed during an act of self defense, that's different and in most US States he's justified in his actions. Calling me a psychopath isn't helping anything. I'm telling you how the law will see this in the US. You don't have to like it. In the end if you don't want to take the chance of getting shot, don't attack other people.

Wees realistisch Richard.

OK, who's going to provide a place for these deadbeats to live? And you're not living off someone's work as a landlord, you're selling the use of your property to a tenant for a monthly fee. I'm tired of these Communists, it didn't work in the Soviet Union and it only works in China because US companies fund their government.

Five European armies -French, Belgian, Italian, Greek, and Spanish practice crossing rivers in France. Men clumped together, no anti drone canopies, grilles, or nets anywhere. These men, and their armour would be literally wiped out in minutes on the modern Battlefield

They're creating reefs. I've built a small one under my doc in the canal on which I live. Started out as a few cinder blocks, I'll expand it in a few weeks with another 50-60 blocks. That provides real-estate for filter feeders who clean the water and habitat for smaller fish. Marco Island FL did this in their canals and it greatly improved their local water quality and habitat for marine life. There are plastic artificial reefs for docs but they're costly and it's still plastic in the water. $125 in cinder blocks provides a clean safe reef.

Instead of flat tax, over the poverty level, how about everyone pay the tax. Thats the only fair thing. Or consumption tax only. If you buy something, you pay a tax. People who have more, pay more. But it’s 100% by choice.
Richard Slingwine@SlingForAmerica

You seem to not understand how it works... Businesses can only deduct expenses that go into making/delivering their products. Not every expense is deductible. The same goes for your household. That said... If you want true tax fairness you should push for a flat tax that everyone over the poverty level pays. Period.

@ChrisCl23903611 @bencollins1919 @BowesChay On average US soldiers are better trained than any other fighting force currently on the planet. Every force has it's rejects, the US has less and they're usually not allowed in positions of command.

@bencollins1919 @SlingForAmerica @BowesChay Two things can be true at the same time. The US has an excellent elite core while the bulk is probably unmotivated and combat unreliable. Basically a jobs program. The Europeans probably have a much smaller component core. If they go to conscription, those troops will he subpar.

@ShanSev56201 @saylordocs You'll never pass that which is why I included the provision. They won't do it because taxation isn't about funding government projects, it's about control.

@Rich2Hall @JHawkJewel @TONYxTWO I agree that it was mislabeled. The graphic shows per 100 people. So per capita gun ownership in the US is 1.2. Tony needs to get his shit together.

@Rich2Hall @TONYxTWO Your math is off. 120.5 per 100 people. That equates to 385,600,000 guns. I don't find that implausible nor do I find it unreasonable. Guns are tools, you don't have just one in your toolbox.

@TONYxTWO 120.5 guns per capita? I need a reference. That would roughly equate to 41 billion firearms held by citizens in the USA. Doubtful.

@TONYxTWO Besides how many firearms per person in the U.S., the more telling figure is that ignorant MAGAS own 80% of them. But good to see some true, significant stats on the subject. And that AR-15's can be bought by the public; just how fucking ridiculous in a civilized country.

OK, I misread. My bad. There are many ways to declare what happens to your portfolio, almost too many to track unless you're a tax lawyer. (I'm not, I just pay way too much in taxes.) Taxing unrealized gains a foolish policy guaranteed to kill investment / reinvestment. Using that policy in a extreme example you could tax a lottery player for the unrealized gain of their lottery ticket. They could win $55mil so we'll charge them taxes until they don't win then we'll refund the taxes charges.

@Ragamuffine2 @averros271828 @MAGAMAHACindy No you don't. The IRS taxes the realized gains, not all gains. BC it's not a real gain until you sell it. To you own a 401k, Stocks, Crypto? If so unless you sell an asset you're not taxed on a gain, or a loss for that matter. The chaos what you described would crash society.

@pacomenzarbien @saylordocs Oh, you want a US government constrained by the limitations set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I agree with that. But you must admit the progressive tax system is a scam which serves benefit the corrupt.

@Ragamuffine2 @averros271828 @MAGAMAHACindy Can voluntarily elect to do this. You're not required to use Mark to Market. Large traders do this to take advantage of the tax codes, not because the government forces you to use this method. It's pretty obvious you don't manage any stocks.
