Well the people you run these programs are stupid. One group of wolves they released calling them gray wolves were actually timber wolves here in the Yellowstone Area. Wolves were already making a come back before the re-introduction program, but governments tend not to believe the locals. Just like it wasn't until last year, did the government admit Grizzlies have a breeding population in Eastern Idaho. It took 3 Grizzley attacks in one spring for them to stop playing thier games. I have heard there are Gray wolves already making a comeback in Colorado, I know people even down to central Utah that have seen them.

Colorado's gray wolf reintroduction has been disastrous. More than half of the 25 gray wolves re-introduced into the Colorado wilderness have died. Livestock losses and the program's overall expenses keep piling up. To make it worse, the program's leadership has dissipated. Conservation policy built on ballot box emotions.
