Hot take but it's fascinating to me how completely self centered some autistic people are that they can't perceive of other ND folks in the vicinity, even other autistic folks also being affected by inappropriate behavior.
Instead, it's no one understands.

the negative responses show exactly how misunderstood autism is. yes its not an appropriate response but its almost like autism is a disability that makes you prone to inappropriate behaviour. i dont think people get how far youd have to be pushed to respond like that.

I'm so tired of lateness being viewed as a moral failing. I've been shamed for it my whole life because it's framed as "disrespect" (and no, it hasn't helped me be more punctual) and if I lost out on a major life opportunity because of it I don't think I could have ever recovered

Not over exaggerating when I say growing up with a mom with "time blindness" was a fucking life ruiner. Like, an actual traumatizing childhood of being embarrassingly late to every single game, practice, recital, graduation, ceremony, concert. You HAVE to do something about it.
