@SquawkBoxSteve I also want to be clear that we definitely do need police and I have nothing against them. It's the way they keep getting deployed and promoted by this govt while everything else gets underfunded and cut.

Anyone have a video of this many cops at a World Cup game with 40 000 fans inside the stadium and thousands more outside? Was there this many, I'm the same space, at the Raptors Championship parade?

@Mr_S_Ont I think we should consider why that much security is needed and address that problem?

@SquawkBoxSteve If you need that many police for such a small event then the event is not worth/safe to have. Unless you are trying to get political points 🤷

@Mr_S_Ont Do you know what security concerns actually were? You don’t know how police are assigned and allocated so I assume not. Without context or historical data, it can’t be assumed this is excessive unless you’re trying to score political points.

Do the @TorontoPolice just offer this level of protection to major events or does the event organizer need to cover those costs, like at a sporting event where the host pays? #onpoli

@SquawkBoxSteve It's excessive Don't be dumb about this You don't need 100 cops for what is advertised as a family event. Especially when you usually have security but for this year you somehow don't. Seems weird, doesn't it. And Dougie is definitely controlling number of cops

Close to the stage Premier Ford, who was touting government investments, support for Scarborough and promised never to raise taxes, was consistently drowned out at Ford Fest. Ford immediately left. Staff highlighted safety for his quick exit. #onpoli

Asking for this many police bodyguards when out in public should be a wake-up call that you need to be a better person.

@Mr_S_Ont Unless we know numbers for previous years, it’s hard to say if this was excessive or not. The policing isn’t controlled by the Premier.

@SquawkBoxSteve Yes... For tens of thousands of people. Why are so many police at a "family event" with, what looks like, under 1000 people? Let's not pretend that the "paid union shills" were also going to be aggressive It's a propaganda move by Dougie.

@Mr_S_Ont The World Cup games in Toronto have had the highest amount of officers deployed in the history of the TPS. Thousands of officers.

Two things can be true here. 1. Protesting an event like this is trashy and bush league. 2. Doug Ford is deeply unpopular and the Ontario PC party will be decimated if he stays on as leader. Time to go, @fordnation
