I can't go anywhere without someone showing me their SGP lottery ticket. Rarely is there any thought behind the pick other than gut feel and "this payout would be nice." This is a great point. The public perception is somehow underdogs win at a higher rate during this tournament than they do normally. For one the public and media look at seed and not line as an indicator of upset which sways a lot of opinion. There's no significant difference in win rate for favorites relative to line in this tournament or regular season.

I am very puzzled two days later why Mets fans are still so protective over David Wright being nicknamed Captain America over Aaron Judge. Wright had a worse WBC as captain than Judge and certainly didn’t get to the Final like Judge. Lastly Captain America is a comic book hero.

Don’t ever be the person in a bar who tries to order a mixed drink with no ice or less ice. You’re the worst, and we’re on to your bullshit. Mind you, not talking about drinks that can be consumed neat, but like rum & cokes. At Toms we’ll politely refuse the first attempt and tell you to go fuck yourself on the second. A bar is better off without your kind.

This sounds like a driver from another hole, but even if it is nefarious, the way to combat it is to have a lot of noise. It is the silence followed by loud noise that causes the issues.

Got an email saying there were suspicious clicking noises in the backswing of certain players you could pick up on TV, went back and looked at one, Rory on 11. Seems clear-ish that it's another swing on course BUT...how long with gambling interests until this is a real thing?

The funniest thing is we're all arguing over whether he should have swung at a ball, when really I'd argue he should take even if its a legitimate strike on the edge. The chances it gets called a ball are still greater than the chances he actually does anything with that pitch.

@JGoldberg12 @IrishTsmith If you think that was a bad pitch you don't know what you are looking at. The fox graphic showed where the pitch was caught. The pitch was real close to the front knee when it hit home plate and had crazy drop to it.

I'm stunned by how many people are saying Perdomo should have swung at that pitch last night and that it was too close to take. So he swings and obliterates his bat on a weak grounder or swings and misses? How about just get the call right?
