The disconnect in the appearance of wealth today and actual ontological poverty of the masses lies in how we define human agency versus material accumulation. Market economies and its scholars and propagandists are measuring wealth by the volume of goods we can consume, which is the standard definition provided by modern economic models. But if we measure wealth by the classical understanding of autonomy and leisure or the ability to subsist and enjoy the freedom to spend one's time outside of compulsory labor then we are poorer than ever. By the classical and Christian definition, a man who owns his land and his time is truly prosperous, whereas a modern professional may have a high salary but remains chained to a desk or burdened by debt and entirely dependent on a fragile global market which he will always have to labor in to get access to. We have essentially traded sovereignty for high levels of market consumption. Our society is called the richest in history by the propagandists of the system because we can purchase anything, yet we are also the first to be taxed at ahistorical rates and trapped in negative equity through financial instruments like mortgages and student loans. If a person's wealth requires them to work more than ever before just to maintain their dependency on a system they do not control, then that prosperity is more of a gilded cage than actual wealth. As a fellow Catholic I feel comfortable telling you that we are living through quite a Satanic inversion of what freedom and wealth mean. I also think that the Social Doctrine of the Church related to wage labor and the market economy is currently underdeveloped. The Church has (not without reason) focused almost all its efforts on fighting against causes like abortion. I'd be happy to discuss it on a private call or livestream on YouTube if you'd like.

@RolfHaltza The current system is decidedly anti-Christian. It wants to root out Christianity completely. It wants the absolute slave to the system. You need detachment from money to keep your soul free. This is what the system circumvents by shutting all options for survival.

The Church Fathers' call for radical detachment is structurally impossible today because we have shifted from a "diversified" subsistence model to a "unitary" market economy model. In the past, money was often superfluous to basic existence because people had direct access to the commons or subsistence activities; you could sell your surplus wealth and still survive through self-sufficiency or communal ties. Whatever money you made or possessed was not the totality of your possessions nor was it tied to what you could produce if you got rid of it. Today, however, every necessity, from food, to shelter, to even legal status, is gated behind the market and a cash transaction, meaning that today "selling everything" no longer leads to a simple, pious life, but to total systemic excision and physical destitution. If you don't have money in a market economy, you do not eat. Ultimately, the modern economy has eliminated the "middle ground" between wealth and death. Because we are now primarily wage laborers who must pay for the "right to exist" (rent, utilities, and taxes), the "abundance" the Fathers tell us to give away is actually our only private safety net. I have said countless times that in the past wage labor was only a step above destitution, so imagine how miserable, how pathetically poor in real terms an entire society comprised of wage laborers, enslaved to the market is. We are already the destitute the fathers spoke about. The teaching cannot be faithfully lived out by individuals today until the totalizing reign of the market, the reign of Mammon is defeated. The current system has effectively criminalized the autonomy required for true Gospel poverty.

The Church Fathers consistently say that all Christians—particularly the rich—owe their abundance to the poor, and if we do not provide it, we are robbing them. That consistent teaching of the Church is challenging for me as well, and I am constantly trying to find ways to live it out more faithfully. Detachment from money is truly one of the greatest sources of genuine liberty this side of heaven.

While gardai dragged farmers off tractors the government passed legislation giving Google Amazon Meta their own electricity grid. Private Wires Bill. March 2026. While blockades were happening. Government sold the only refinery like a used car 2001. Banned new oil drilling 2021. Promised Brussels 51% emissions cuts. Tracking 23%. 26 billion euro fine locked in. Trapped. Can't help farmers. Can't admit why. Tech companies consume a third of Irish electricity and pay HALF price. Every household paid 600 euro 2010-2022 subsidising Google. Instead of fixing it they passed private wires legislation. Tech giants own renewable energy. Lock it away. Rest of us fight over scraps. 28 civil society groups warned Big Tech power grab. Government ignored them. Dublin 2023 buses burned Luas torched. Nothing. Farmer blockade disrupts fuel. Military within hours. Why Because protecting Silicon Valley's ownership of Irish energy matters more than the people who feed Ireland. Government sold the energy. Now it's selling the farmers. That's institutional capture.

This is bizarre. He's speaking from a perspective as if there was no fall in the Garden and as if human concupiscence can be overcome by man's own power in this life.. It's as if he doesn't really understand Christianity or the purpose of the Church in this life. It's very strange.

A woman posted on TikTok that she wants a military boyfriend so she never has to see him and he dies in war. Many girls in the comments said, “I hope he dies and I get his money.” One said, “I can cheat while he’s fighting for the country.” See the number of likes. This is the reality of modern women. They see men as ATMs with no feelings. But this isn’t just a joke. Many of them have the exact same mindset. Imagine the outrage if men said the same thing about women. Feminist women would be hating and abusing all men. God save men from such women.

Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict etc all “give countenance to a false Christianity” by praying at the alters with heretics and not telling them to convert. By giving Anglicans pectoral crosses, croziers, rings etc they patted them on the back on the road to damnation!

This is a real picture of Ireland’s current Minister for Defence, Helen McEntee. She is in charge of Ireland’s military right now. The Irish military is expected to side with this woman over the people of Ireland right now. I pray for a full-scale revolt by the Irish military.

"If you’re counting on white Catholic workers to bring about socialism in France, it won’t happen." This is Third Worldism in a nutshell: the native proletariat has failed the revolution, so look to the global proletariat, the 'wretched of the earth', to complete the revolution.
