Fifa Technology 👀 Its very clear to everyone with working eyes that: 1. It hits the wire 2. Trajectory of ball changes 3. All Norwegian staff seen it happen They are hiding behind this ball technology which clearly isnt working properly & even worse, was used to chop off a Croatia goal that we also could not see any evidence of the player touching the ball Football is unique, its a flowing game, get the technology less involved and make the refs control a game again 🙏
FIFA Media@fifamedia

Before England’s goal in minute 45+2 against Norway, the sensor in the Connected Ball showed no peak in the 'heartbeat of the ball' when in the air, and therefore no evidence that the ball touched the overhead wire and changed the movement of the ball.

@Gust_2319 @Alonso_GD this is in fact the second time the newly expanded rules has been used for yellow cards wrongly issued because of diving in this tournament.. the first time was Tim Ream in USA vs Paraguay.. if IFAB want to make any statement, they would have make it back then

@Stephanus_SJ @Alonso_GD Has IFAB made an official statement though? Right now the rules are in fact ambiguous.

Look I can make the legal case as to why VAR Guidelines do not support revising a yellow against Argentina and turning it into a yellow for Switzerland instead. I can. But the key issue here is I’ve seen Argentineans dive in other matches and get no card or VAR check at all

@BouafifNour the only reason VAR didn't intervene to give red card here is because the ankle didn't bend.. but surely that looks like two yellow card offense, lol

Switzerland should've finished this game with two red cards. I swear, in any other game this gets given as a red, if it wasn't for all the criticism and pressure refs have been getting lately for Argentina games, he would've 100% shown the red.

VAR widening the definition of “mistaken identity” and making it about “mistaken offence”. The yellow can be overturned, but a new offence of simulation can’t be registered. That is re-refereeing the game.

@ChristinaUnkel and cable's position at that time should be known, right? or at least could be determined by camera's position.. so let's start from that.. if cables are away, then search other explanation

@ChristinaUnkel anyway, video wasn't really conclusive because there could be other explanation aside from hitting cable such as sudden gust of wind, or some Jabulani situation (been hearing the quirckiness of this ball), or Jedis and Siths in the audience 👀

Re FIFA connected ball technology. Sensor inside ball continuously measures movement. Clarify it is NOT limited by how high ball is above pitch. FIFA reports connected ball data found no indication of contact with cable, that becomes objective info + the video review for refs.

@D_Thon could be wind.. or quirk of thd ball that cause it to change direction unexpectedly.. jusy like thd infamous Jabulani in 2010

🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Full explanation! Leandro Paredes was first shown a yellow card for a foul on Embolo. VAR then told the referee to review the incident after spotting that Embolo had dived. After watching the replay, the referee overturned Paredes' yellow card and instead booked Embolo for simulation. As Embolo was already on a yellow card, it became his second yellow and he was sent off.

@SuperMutantt @Ldeezee @markpougatch the ball has similar problem with the infamous Jabulani, mainly because they both use few panel.. but Jabulani is more pronounced because the World Cup back then were played in place with relatively lower air pressure I believe

@Ldeezee @markpougatch I've read that because this ball only uses 4 panel, it is smoother and prone to unexpectly change direction, like knuckleball, that is hellish for goalkeeper.. I believe it's Joe Hart who said that

So part of the 3m 10s VAR check was seeing if Hakimi was fouled in the build-up to the Mbappe penalty. Why didn’t they spend 3mins checking the Salah and Fathy fouls in the build-up to the Argentina winning goal?

@g5xaf yes, no handball not deliberate, close range, no chance to move, normal hand motion

今の場面、ハンドやと思うけど…🤔 あれがなければ、こぼれ球がルカクに繋がってた可能性あった気がする。 ハンドなら決定機の阻止級。でもVAR介入なし。 これ、ノーハンドの判定でOKなん?

@Akrambtw the handball was not deliberate, it was a quick bounce and hand was in natural motion.. and you are supposed to play to the whistle, not complaining while the other team is attacking.. that's their own fault..

I know we lost fair and square to this amazing french team, but it still amazes me that you gotta have the VAR on your side while you have a monster team, Mbappe clearly dove mazraoui didnt even touch him and the var did nothing, rabiot touches the ball so the players complained and stood still while the counterattack was happening, like they were gonna win anyway but its kinda unfair

@markgoldbridge Accidental handball in buildup followed by a defensive clearance with another buildup is never reviewable.

So the viewer doesn't get to see if it might have been a handball in the build up then? We're literally being censored
