TCU honest thoughts on Kane Williamson 🚨 Kane Williamson is one of the modern day greats of our game. No one can take that tag away from him. He has given many incredible performances for his country over the years and he's the only Kiwi player who has earned global cricket recognition for his achievements. He will go down as arguably their greatest ever cricketer. But right now the professionalism of Kane Williamson has to be questioned. I can understand the need of having more money and to make your family secure in future but it's very strange that he isn't playing IPL nor PSL but he's been given the post of LSG's strategic head at only 35 years of age and he's been paid a very good amount for it but what saddens me is the fact that he has made himself unavailable for the Bangladesh ODI series cause of his duties with LSG. It is very disrespectful to his young teammates who are the future of NZ cricket. Kane Williamson not being part of the 3 match ODI series against Bangladesh sums up where he is at this point of his career. He is neither taking rest nor even playing county cricket where it will be a good practice for the 3 match test series in England in few months time.

@tjaudain Many others would of got a longer rope then that 10 test innings so 5 or 6 tests that’s not very many for a champion player like he was he didn’t deserve to be dropped they should of handled it better he at least deserved a farewell test or series

Coincidentally in his last 10 test innings, he scored 157 runs at an average of 15.70 which included 6 single digit scores (4, 7, 9, 1, 6, 0) & 4 double digit scores which included 1 half century against South Africa & 46 against England.

The truth was Chanderpaul was dropped not forced to retired. It wasn't because of Lara's record, he was struggling to find his usual form especially at the age of 40, which ultimately led to his omission from the squad and subsequent retirement.
