I have adopted two 12-year-old cats, sisters Bitsy (black & white) and Midge (gray tabby & white). They've settled in their new home very quickly. Now I need to become accustomed to having a cat on my lap whenever I'm sitting and a cat sleeping beside or on me at night. 😻

How on earth are you supposed to take things to recycling centres when you haven't got a car and there's no public transport? Am I really expected to get a taxi, or hire somebody, to take polystyrene away?

I complain a lot here, and it's because everybody I love is dead. The people who like me are far away. I talk about my diabetes here because the one person who would have known how hard it was for me died of cancer 39 days before I was diagnosed.

As you probably noticed, I've been very silent this week. Last Friday, we found out that our beautiful Ratatouille is dying from cancer. He has drastically lost weight, and he is throwing up a lot. They said that's because of where the cancer is. They wanted me to put him down. But, he is still eating, drinking, grooming, trying to play, and wants attention. So, I chose to watch him live! I am treating his nausea, giving him subcutaneous fluids, and watching for any signs of pain. He is about 13 and a very loving gentleman who taps me when he wants pets. Rescuing animals is wonderful, but watching things like this happen to them is heart-wrenching!

I’ve cooked some chicken for Moo (I don’t eat meat myself), and he has eaten some 😊. I think that his blocked nose isn’t helping, he can’t smell the food properly and that’s affecting his appetite. He was eating ok for the few days before the sniffles set in.

@alisonbeach611 @des_farrand @Steveredwolf Too many people moving here from more expensive places, driving up cost of housing, etc. Traffic is terrible all day every day because infrastructure can't keep up. Otherwise it's great...barring weather disasters. 😏

@des_farrand @Steveredwolf Morning all. September 2025 & it's the month for lovely Hesperantha, still my favourite flower. Aka schizostylis, River Lily, & Crimson Flag Lily, it produces the most perfect flowers. There are other colours but nothing beats the species red. 👏👏👏
