Sec. Kennedy: Mercury is absolutely—it’s the most powerful neurotoxin we know of in the universe. Rep. Harder: So why are you working for an administration that is doubling the amount of mercury pollution in our air and water? Sec. Kennedy: I am running HHS and I’m ending the chronic disease epidemic. I’m not going to comment on that because I don’t know anything about it. Rep. Harder: Well, that’s very convenient for you, and it shows a significant degree of cowardice. It’s not just mercury. President Trump in July 2025 granted 50 chemical plants— Sec. Kennedy: Why don’t you ask me something that I’m in charge of instead of other things? Rep. Harder: Are you not in charge of Health and Human Services?

This is exactly why I stopped believing in petitions and that whole “Call your senators” bs. For the hundredth time, You cannot reason with someone who only sees dollar signs. 98% of our senators have already made the choice to burn the world for billionaires.

I find it kinda sad how the guy who made something that really inspired me and got me into researching more about old Roblox, ended up firing his friends and cancelling their most popular games over ai slop and profit for his own greed. Don't meet your heroes.

@LegendOJ1_RBLX Your game will have no players before it has CCU and it often will remain that way for quite a while. Development can be costly, yeah, but not inherently, and building that into the process isn't ideal. I understand Roblox provides a lot for devs, but they also take a huge cut.

@LegendOJ1_RBLX The other requirements on their own are enough, especially the manual approval process. The $5 seems more like squeezing extra profit out. It's also not as simple as "just make the $ back." What about games that never take off? (2/3)*

People don't realize that we can't have nice things when people abuse them. We either let bad actors make games freely or we put up walls to deter them from doing so, pretty simple. The Roblox community talks and yells a lot but rarely proposes meaningful solutions to the child safety issues on the platform. And it's not as straightforward as "hiring more mods". Roblox has not taken away anyone's ability to create games freely - you can still make games for personal enjoyment without any age verification. This was how I and many others started as a young dev, just making games for the fun of it, not caring about having any players at all. For those who have games that have players, the likelihood of a game with any CCU at all making at least $5 a month to cover the Roblox Plus costs is actually pretty high. Most people who have games that have any players will most likely be able to afford Roblox Plus just from the game's revenue alone. Not to mention Roblox Plus is actually a pretty good-looking subscription anyway. The perks seem actually meaningful unlike the current Premium situation. People should see it as just another cost of running a business, no different to the money that already goes towards advertising or hiring devs. It's also worth noting that anyone in the DevEx program already has their ID verified, and if people are worried about having to verify their ID but they want to make games that make them money, they must realize that ID verification is already a requirement to cash that revenue out. To be able to publish games to kids, I fully agree with the type of vetting process that Roblox is proposing. The sole reason that bad actors slip through the cracks so often right now is because of a lack of vetting. It's unfortunate that it has to come to this, but these requirements will undoubtedly deter many bad actors who publish inappropriate content to kids. The one thing about this update that needs some more thought is the lengthy process of getting your game approved for All Ages. Realistically, most Roblox devs are going to be making games that kids will play. To restrict games to ages 16+ by default and have devs wait potentially WEEKS to be accessible to their target audience is a pretty annoying process. I think there is room to streamline this process as it seems like the only thing I can argue with about the whole change. Overall, this change shouldn't be as controversial as it has become. It's the easiest way to stop new inappropriate material surfacing on the platform. Will people still slip through the cracks? Sure, it can't be perfect and some people are willing to take the risk. But it will deter a lot of people who would've otherwise been free to publish that type of content. There are definitely flaws, but I think people underestimate Roblox's willingness to change things based on backlash. We should work together to come up with alternatives and fixes to these flaws rather than storming with pitchforks. On a final note though, I think most of this anger comes from Roblox constantly changing stuff rather than coming up with one policy that they stick to. It's like they rush features out then add the clarification and fixes later when people are already mad. They need to think through things more thoroughly and be more engaged with the community to gather an opinion on changes before they go live. It's no secret in Roblox's history that people don't like sudden changes, and the spree of sudden changes recently has really riled people up.

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

They achieved it through expertise. Studios didnt cycle through devs, outsource away jobs. If they outsourced it was for gruntwork. People were allowed to build their skills over multiple decades and perfect their craft. Today youre lucky to hold a position for 3 years.
