And so if the Republican Party wanted to start this, they did this in North Carolina. They drew out three Democratic members of Congress in North Carolina. They did it in Texas. What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over, doesn’t fight, and takes everything sitting down. And what they’re mad at right now is that we are here in a new day. And we have been asking the Democratic Party to stand up and fight, and now they did—and now the Republican Party doesn’t like the fact that they are fighting against someone who actually will stand up for the American people. So if Republicans decide that they would like to revisit a ban on partisan gerrymandering, I welcome them. We have the bill right here to end this all today. But they don’t want to, because they like pursuing and continuing to enact an unfair electoral landscape. And so we have an obligation to defend ourselves.

@AvivaKlompas No. The real story here is it would not have been necessary to rescue this airman if Trump had not attacked Iran and started this ill-advised war in the first place. Trump’s post was execrable. The rescue was amazing. Now end the war.

It’s striking to see what’s capturing attention today. Many are fixated on the president’s post - the language, the tone, the threat. But the real story is something else entirely: an American service member was rescued alive in a daring operation deep inside enemy territory. Thank God his life was saved. Thank God he didn’t fall into the hands of a brutal regime. And thank God the United States is committed to bringing its people home.

@fl6060842 @TheJFreakinC Check the law. Not all “commands” issued by police in traffic stops are lawful. For example: you are typically required to show license, registration and proof of insurance. You do not have to lower your window all the way or answer questions. Many ICE actions are unlawful.

Or, crazy thought, maybe they should have complied. When you act like you don’t have to listen to cops, because you’re “scared”, you’re in the wrong, period. Law enforcement gives you a command, you fucking follow it, and skin color has zero bearing on that. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents, working with state police, pulled over a vehicle, in Ogden, Utah… and smashed their car window because he wouldn’t roll it down all the way. Watch the shift… because this is where it goes from aggressive to completely out of control. The driver already has the window partially open. The ICE agent is yelling, giving a countdown, threatening to break the window… while another officer is trying to open the door from the other side. No explanation, or clear threat… Just escalation. Then, someone inside says, “I’m a U.S. citizen… you pointed a gun at me.” And that’s the moment everything changes. Instead of pulling back… instead of correcting… instead of even acknowledging it… The ICE agent snaps. “I don’t give a shit who you are, I don’t know you.” And then he immediately escalates further… raises the metal bar… and starts hitting the window… doubling down on force. A person says you pointed a gun at them… and your response is not to de-escalate… It’s to get MORE aggressive. That’s retaliation. They call them “non-compliant”… and within seconds, the window is smashed and the driver is dragged out. And it doesn’t stop there. The passenger… who is recording… gets told to “stay there” while the officer puts his hand on his gun. He responds, “I’m recording for my safety.” The officer shuts the door on him anyway. When he opens it again and steps out… and then the officer physically shoves him back into the car. This is what needs to be understood… The escalation didn’t come from a threat. It came the second someone spoke up… the second someone said, “you pointed a gun at me”… The second someone started documenting it. That’s when it got worse. That’s when it turned physical. That’s when the window broke. And that’s what should alarm people… because that’s not about safety anymore. That’s about being challenged… and responding with more force.
