30年前くらいに村上春樹のエッセイで、アメリカではコーラにピーナッツを入れて飲むのがポピュラーだと書いてあった。「ふぅん」と思ってから長い時間が経ったが、ついにやってみた。 何だこれバカ美味いんでやんの。 これ以外でもうコーラ飲みたくなくなるレベル。

一口サイズに切ったキュウリや大根を、梅干しの果肉を叩いたペーストにディップするだけで美味しいですよ!

I got the Umeboshi and Short grain Japanese rice. Washed the rice and threw it in the rice cooker. Guess I'm gonna try some of this tonight. Reaction video coming in a bit.

「素敵なお召し物ですね」と着物姿の女性に声をかけたら、「ありがとう。昨日までは桜の色だったんですよ」と返されました。不思議に思って尋ねると、「桜は今日が満開です。日本では、本物の花が満開の日に桜柄を着るのは『野暮』だと言われているのですよ」と教えてくれました。
自分の締めているネクタイに目を落とすまでもなく、私の顔が桜色に染まっていったのは言うまでもありません。

今日カリフォルニアの友人と話してたんだけど、「最近のツイッター見てる？アメリカ人たちが本場のBBQをどんどん紹介してくれて、どれも本当にすごいし感謝しかない」って伝えたら「感謝するのはアメリカの方だよ。アメリカのBBQってホストであるその家の父ちゃんが主役で、前日から準備をする一大イベントなのね。父ちゃんの名誉をかけた“渾身の作品”を提供するイベント。だけどゲストは家族、親族、友人、近所の人、後は仲のよい同僚くらいでだいたいいつも同じメンツなのね。なので基本的には初対面やそれに近い人は呼ばないからいつも似たような人たちが集まるんだよね。でも父ちゃんに取っては魂を込めた自分の“作品”だから、やはりもっと色々な人に見て欲しいって欲求はあるんだよ。で、今回アメリカ人が日本人に自身のBBQを見せたら大勢の日本人からポジティブな反応が届いたわけじゃん？もうこの流れに乗らない父ちゃんはいないよ。「俺の作品も見てくれ！」ってどんどん押し寄せて、日本人はその全てに惜しみない賞賛を浴びせてくれる。こんな幸せなことはないよ。明日から週末だね。月曜日には更に力の入ったBBQ画像がツイッターに溢れるんじゃないかな？」とのことで、BBQ Daddies可愛すぎでは🥺
