I wanted to bring this up on the @therollupco panel today: even if the UI/UX is the same, the underlying counter-risk may not be. It's the job of the app/aggregator builders to evaluate swap rails to ensure they are permissionless as possible. It's easy to spin up an API if it's just a broker with a centralized exchange account. Sure the user might get single transaction swaps, but when things go wrong, they take on all the risk with funds being stuck in flight. It took many years for cross-chain tech to mature to this point, whether it's AMMs, Intents or decentralized CLOB models: ultimately protocols build complexity and app abstract it away for the user. At @thorswap & @SwapKitPowered we share a common goal with cross-chain protocols to ensure we're moving forward towards better trustless tech, and not just a defi mullet where the backend is still centralized/worse than tradfi. If we're entering into crypto's age of Neo Finance, then the core ethos of why we're here should not be forgotten.

User swapped $30M and got MORE than expected⚡️ User initiated: 323 BTC → ETH swap ($30M+) THORChain pools had approximately: ~2,500 ETH Not nearly enough liquidity for a single massive swap. The Solution: Streaming Swaps + Arbitrage Instead of one trade that would destroy the price, the swap was broken into 3,608 smaller swaps executed every 2 THORChain blocks over 13 hours. Why every 2 blocks instead of every block? @SwapKitPowered (the integration toolkit that @TrustWallet uses to connect to THORChain) chose this interval to give arbitrage bots enough time to: 1. Spot the price difference on THORChain 2. Buy cheaper assets elsewhere 3. Add liquidity to THORChain pools 4. Profit from the price gap The protocol incentivizes arb bots to become the liquidity exactly when it's needed. Quote (including all fees): 9,192.55 ETH Actually received: 9,240.64 ETH User got 48 MORE ETH than quoted. During the 13 hour swap, ETH/BTC price dropped 1.93% on external markets. The streaming execution captured this price movement in the user's favor. Most DEXs and bridges fail at scale because they're limited to whatever liquidity sits in their pools. THORChain's design makes arbitrage profitable, so bots automatically provide liquidity exactly when needed. The bigger the swap, the more profitable the arb, the faster pools get rebalanced.
