@SwampFox8

Reformed Christian, Conservative. All views are my own and not those of the DoD. Probably too interested in politics and history. My love language is sarcasm.

My username is the Swamp Fox because he was the biggest Southern Revolutionary War hero. Growing up I read a few kid bios of him and was in awe. As I’ve gotten older I’ve continued to read up on him and apply some of his guerilla activities to counter-insurgency theory.

@st3vat @TwoRulesOfWar Don't worry. After we liberate Britain one of these days humor will become legal again. I shall rule my subjects well, as my ancestors did before William the Conqueror. I shall not rest Till we have built Jerusalem, In Englands green & pleasant Land.

@SwampFox8 @TwoRulesOfWar OIC, apologies. For a second thought you were all for the intimidatory foreign policy. Can never tell these days, your irony was well disguised.

Buddy, if we wanted Greenland that bad, there’s literally nothing you or the rest of Europe could do to stop us. What we *wanted* was for you to do your fucking job and defend it- and youre clearly braver posturing against us than actually preparing to fight the *actual* threat.
Max Twang 🇫🇮🇪🇺@kmh

@monsterhunter45 This is why we made it utterly clear that the price for Greenland is total, globe-spanning war. No amount of money suffices.

@SwampFox8 @TwoRulesOfWar I think most people are just surprised that the US are happy to be the imperialist baddies given their history of fighting against that oppression. I assume you're not a Christian given your responses but the prevalence of faith in your society must put many at odds with your gov

Obviously the American commandant pretends to be a Klink like buffoon who the instant the Euros leave his presence is super competent, but he does have a faint German accent amd a Nazi war trophy behind his desk. We reverse the Hendly character and make him the guard who gets the POWs all sorts of useful things designed to get them where they are needed. They get fake radio reports back from Europe designed to send them to the fake buildings. The Chaplain is a backwoods Reformed Baptist preacher who preaches hellfire and damnation, converts a few of the POWs, and runs a still on the side that he uses for sacramental whiskey that the POWs jeep trying to steal.

This would be a great 2 season show. It is a reverse Hogan's Heroes. The Europoors barely can get a BDE up to Greenland and can't resupply them. After two weeks of useless guerrilla campaigns they surrender. The US doesnt want more POWs to get sent to replace them (we don't want to feed them). So instead we decide to continue the idea of the Resistance and build fake buildings, allow the Europeans to escape, they get to blow up and send back messages that they are stymiying the evil Americans. We build up sympathy with a Texan and NC cook who introduce BBQ to the POWs. A few Air Force cheerleaders who are love interests who pretend to be charmed by Gallic accents and one UK jihadi that the responsible Danes keep reporting up to us.

@KelliB4Thee @megbasham @ryanburge That'd still put Protestants closer to 40%. That line of weekly averaged has Prots going to service more going back to about 1998.

@megbasham @ryanburge Combine Evangelical with Mainline Protestant and you have the orthodox/liberal amalgam that is represented in the Catholic stat above but cannot be parsed out due to the structure of and self-identification practices within our Church.

This graph from @ryanburge likely goes a long way to explaining why evangelicals today take a much more biblical stance on issues like abortion, marriage, and gender identity than Catholics do.

@TwoRulesOfWar Too boring. 1st of all we'd need to sit and wait for 3-4 weeks to get a warship anywhere near us. Who's got time for that??

So I think it's safe to say that Iran and sleeper cells can be put to rest. They bitched out and are too incompetent to have even caused terrorism over here.

@SwampFox8 @CB_5_56_ Thats a Walker. We used to breed them and my dad won hunting competitions in the 70s/80s with his line. When he retired he had to disperse them to people who were still hunting. They are like super beagles but you need them that size to fight the racoon. youtube.com/shorts/nAcF6CW…

Do you really not see a difference between a publishing company publishing all different sorts of books with different authors through different imprints, including some Christian imprints, and a Christian organization accepting money from one of the largest abortion funders in the United States? Do you truly think these are the same thing?

OK, let me try to help you out. Russell Moore claims to be a minister of the gospel. And AS a minister of the gospel, he and organizations for which he works have taken money from hard left secular foundations to promote left-wing political priorities in the church. For example, while editor in chief of Christianity Today, the magazine took over $1 million from the largest private abortion funder in the country, the Hewlett foundation. Donald Trump, by contrast, is a secular political leader. While some believe he is a Christian, I personally haven’t seen evidence of this and do not believe this. So not only is he not a minister of the gospel, he is not trying to promote his political priorities through tortured theological claims. Hope that helps you spot the difference!
Tyler Lee Conway@TylerLeeConway

It’s interesting how Megan uses gentle theological caution for Trump, but reserves language like “schemer,” “manipulator,” and “operative” for Moore. The contrast kind of speaks for itself, and the difference in tone is obvious.

Trump needs to be removed from office. If @jdvance has any integrity left he would be working to achieve this. The VP can’t be fired by the president. Your first responsibility is to God and then to America, not to an insane boss JD.

Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling is not mincing words. The former Commanding General of US Army Europe says these generals were purged because they stood up against Pete Hegseth’s push to turn the US military into a Christian nationalist crusade. Retired Army Maj. Gen. Randy Manner says dozens of chaplains who don’t share Hegseth’s views are being marginalized and excluded from staff meetings. The chaplain corps exists to serve all service members regardless of faith. That apparently made Green’s position untenable. The Pope has now weighed in. Hegseth’s prayer for battlefield violence prompted a response from Rome: God does not listen to those who wage war in his name. Hertling has seen enough. So have the troops. @SwampFox8 The consensus of scholars is that the Gospel of John was written based on compiling stories circulating in the Johannine community, not eyewitness account. And this is a good explanation of why the apostles would falsely believe in the resurrection: youtu.be/_x8SB_gy8jg?si…

John 20:27 ESV [27] Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Anything to deny the truth and free grace of the Gospel.
