@TalkWargames No. Defamation is defamation. If you present something as fact and it is untrue (especially by your own admission) that is ABSOLUTELY UNDOUBTEDLY DEFAMATION). You quite literally have zero idea what the fuck talking about.

@Pebblet5 @Rationalconsu23 I know what defamation is, I also know how difficult it is to sue for defamation when public figures are involved. For the most part she would need to prove actual loss due to it, and actual malice.
Libel is definitely a lower threshold. But again, would probably be a poor look

@Rationalconsu23 @TalkWargames Defamation is the act of propagating false statements and in the US impacts a person's income and can be proven that it does. Even outside of the criminality it is defamatory to spew all of this and suddenly take back what was said. If you want Ii can say she can sue for libel?

@lensless1221 I did clarify in another comment that I was talking about the high threshold to be successful. Could she sue for defamation? Yes, definitely. Would she probably be wasting her money pursuing it? Also yes. The threshold is higher when public figures are involved

@TalkWargames @yasminesummanx Well it's defamation because he used something that wasn't true that eventually became a reason she was banned from Rio (possible claim that her income or future income is impacted) and received so much hate and misinformation based on a thing that never happened.
