NEW: A 20-year-old woman went blind after wearing contact lenses in the shower during a trip to the Dominican Republic. Grace Jamison was exposed to tap water containing a microscopic parasite which got trapped under her lenses and embedded into her corneas, causing a severe infection. She was initially misdiagnosed and given steroid drops that made it worse. Within one week, she lost all vision in both eyes. After the correct diagnosis, she began intensive anti-parasitic treatment with eye drops every 30-60 minutes. The treatment is expected to last 6 months to a year. She has now regained partial vision in her left eye only. Never expose contact lenses to any water. This is brutal.

@shrewsmorris @NHS My husband paid for private MRI after being refused on NHS. Showed Corda Equina he was told it's an emergency go to A&E. NHS Dr told him to try a hot water bottle! He had the emergency surgery when I lost my rag with them.

This morning…….a letter to the Daily Telegraph…….(obviously senders name not included here) regarding a letter from the @NHS. 🙄🙄 SIR – Having waited months for an appointment with a spinal consultant regarding my constant, severe back pain and associated leg weakness, I finally received a letter headed: “You have an appointment”. What joy. The next line stated: “An appointment has been booked for you as below.” However, a subsequent paragraph read: “Important: Please be advised that you do not need to attend this appointment. This is not an actual appointment, but for administration purposes only.”Patients deserve better than this contemptible bureaucracy.

🚨A whistleblower from @Girlguiding has been in touch. Volunteers have been instructed that, irrespective of the Supreme Court judgement, boys who identify as girls can use female camp rooms and toilets. Worse still, parents must not be told. This is a safeguarding nightmare.

@JeremyVineOn5 Pre ultra processed foods we ate puddings and bread and didn't get fat. We ran around at lunchtime and had PE not sitting in front of computer screens get hunch backed. Giving nutritional foods in school won't make a jot of difference if the children are eating carp at home.

Are school dinners to blame for childhood obesity? The government have just announced plans to take food likes pizza, pudding and fish and chips off the menu in schools, but is that really the answer? What did you used to have for lunch at school?

@astorey88 @PatrickChristys My daughter is a single parent who works. She gets UC and recently took my grandson to London for a weekend. She stayed with friends and visited the Tower of London, London Zoo and the Science museum. She wouldn't have been able to afford the standard prices. They took picnics.

@PatrickChristys So the prices are hiked for non-UC payers to subsidise those on UC. I’m sorry but if you’re on UC you should not be able to afford to go to these places full stop. And yes I’m aware that many UC claimants are workers!
