@TheMapReader @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire Then we are no different from your club or any other club tbh.

Oxford United publish 24/25 accounts, when the club finished 17th in the Championship.
The bonkers nature of football finance is that the club is being evicted from the current stadium, and the £10m spent to date on finding/building a new one is not allowed for PSR purposes.
🔑figures
⚽️Revenue £19m ⬆️125% (due to promotion and get £6.50 in broadcast money in Championship for every £1 in League One)
⚽️Wages £21.7m ⬆️92%
⚽️Wages 114% of revenue ⬇️19%
⚽️Underlying loss £16.0m ⬆️33%
⚽️Stadium development costs written off £2.6m
⚽️Player sale profits £0.1m ⬇️86%

@TheMapReader @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire So what are you doing currently? At the whim of an owner no?
English

@Stuartjamess @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire We did, yes. The difference is, those losses weren't covered by the whim of an owner.
English

@TheMapReader @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire So you made it to the premier league while making a profit? I’m sure you made a loss the years you got promoted.
English

@Stuartjamess @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire We've never made it to the Premier League whilst spending someone else's money.
English

@TheMapReader @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire Fair enough & im really not.
I highly doubt you gave a shit when you was losing millions making it to the premier league
English

@TheMapReader @barxthefourth @KieranMaguire I mean he never built you a new stadium and never funded a legal battle against local NIMBYS.
Every club loses money, literally happens at all levels.
We still pay extortionate rent in a shit stadium, where none of the money made goes to us.
English

@barxthefourth @KieranMaguire Our owner pays his bills and is funding a £150m stadium plus funding training ground improvements, could be any difference to chansiri
English

@KieranMaguire Crazy losses how do clubs with these huge deficits convince banks that they're viable..? Is it purely down to the fact they could potentially get in the Premier League..?
English

I don’t get why there’s any dissent around this:
🔘 He’s 25 & has shown he’s very capable in the right system
🔘 He will be on a lowish wage
🔘 Replacing players is expensive
🔘 If he doesn’t fit our plans we can sell him for a fee
No brainer for me!

We're delighted to confirm Ousmane Diakité will remain at The Hawthorns until the summer of 2027. The midfielder signed a two-year contract on joining Albion in June 2024 and the club have exercised an option to extend that deal by a further 12 months. 🤝
English

@MaybedocI @C0achPb1 @CJHall83 We were signing players to fit Nestor's game model, which both Campbell and Gilchrist did, as right backs. I guess the feeling was we couldn't afford a decent left footed centre half and that Mepham and/or Bielik would be good enough there.
English

@GaryKnight4 @SussexCCC It is. Also interesting to see Tear in ahead of Carter.

@luke_e_flies @chrislepkowski A category 1 academy is expensive. Or at least it can look expensive.
English

@chrislepkowski Yes I get that, I’m just surprised that it’s to the tune of £5m+/yr over the last 3 years of the cycle (which it needs to be to stay within £39m). If so, great news!
English

Huge credit to Bilkul for their accounting flair. They've done one hell of a job cutting costs at #wba to fall within the PSR parameters.
Survival now a necessity to change the future trajectory in the right direction.
English

@BilboBaggies68 @LewisCox_star @ESAlbion_star Very little. Only Mowbray left during that accounting period.
English

@LewisCox_star @ESAlbion_star How much of that loss was from sacking managers?
English

New - Albion's latest accounts show £17m loss for 2024/25 season. Reduced almost 50% from £31m the year before. Headline figs also reveal Shilen Patel £31m investment between Feb'24-June'25. More 👇 @ESAlbion_star #wba

@chrislepkowski Apologies, Ullathorne missed the next four games, but did come back.
English

@TheMapReader Brown didn't, but the other guy (Ullathorne) did play after that game. I guess my cynicism comes from the general malaise and behaviour of certain individuals that day
English

@FootballCliches It was April 24th 2000. I'll let @CDEccleshare fill in the gaps.
