@TLTM32 It is a confit chicken. A chicken rendered and stored canned in its own fat to preserve it. You don't eat it that way, you finish it in the oven. Most Americans have never eaten chicken this way. But I have put up and canned chicken in a similar manner.

@SVeale90630 @Monica55dzrh You can rinse it with cold water after straining it to stop the cooking process. I do this quite often with angel hair, because I prefer my pasta al denta. And it's really easy to overcook thin pasta into a soft mess.

@Monica55dzrh You don't need to rinse pasta at any stage, either prior to cooking, or after. It's mostly flour. Rinsing it sounds really odd actually.

Stop rewriting history. The Crusades were holy wars launched with explicit religious motivation, "Deus Vult" (God wills it). They involved conquest, forced conversions, massacres of Jews and Muslims, and the establishment of Christian kingdoms in the Middle East. Yes, there were provocations and retaliation on both sides, but pretending it was purely defensive is pure cope. Your religion has a long history of using violence to spread. Own it.

Average Christians think their mythology spread by politely knocking on doors.

@Atomsmade The reality is that history is messy. Faith and politics rarely mix. Those that stayed true to faith, died quite often for it. "The Prince " by Machiavelli should give you a good idea how the crown utilized "Christianity" as a tool for power, but seldom practiced its teachings.

It spread through persuasion in the early days, then through Roman political power, and later through centuries of conquest, colonization, slavery, forced conversions, crusades, and inquisitions. You don't get to cherry-pick the peaceful parts and pretend the blood didn't happen. Your religion's history is messy as fuck. Own it.

@Atomsmade Colonization and Slavery, was part of an Imperialist movement, also heavily in opposition to a majority of the church. It was the church that pushed for the Abolishment of slavery, and once again many people that opposed these positions by the crowns of Europe died for it.
