They want this narrative to be true.
That gamers reject AI therefore you should not use it.
But I haven't seen one game where using AI tanked sales:
- They tried to it on Clair Obscure, and gamers kept buying.
- They tried it on Crimson Desert. Gamers kept buying.
As much as people say they don't like AI, they really don't have a problem with it so long as the game is well done and fun to play.
And if you want the truth, everybody is using AI in games already.

Both the breakfast question and Newcomb are problematic but for different reasons
Breakfast because mood is very difficult to simulate (pic related)
Newcomb because it's underspecified how the predictions are made, so the counterfactual breaks

@TheNerdWASuit I think a lot of the characters are annoying, and there's what seems to be a lot of undeserved power boosts for the cool factor, but I really love it. Generally, I don't think the writing was as strong.

You know, I don't mean to try and sound rude, but a lot these criticisms I see about Korra scream to me the specific problem these people have is that the world just...evolved.
Seeing how metalbending took off after Toph discovered it is just so cool to observe with Korra.

This scene is a good example of my issue with metalbending in Korra. In the original series, Toph had to be in physical contact with the metal, because it was much harder to bend than actual earth, because she was bending the impurities within it. Meanwhile, the metal bending in Korra is basically the opposite, they actually bend with far more precision than anyone bends earth with, which doesn't make any sense. It's kinda in the same vein as the lavabending, where instead of applying any actual logic to it, they treated the bending as pure sorcery. Korra doesn't learn it from anyone, she just has it, because she has more Bending Midiclorians than everyone else, I guess.

Assuming no possible coordination:
If everybody was rational, we would all individually pick red & be safe without needing coordination, trusting that the sum of individual interests would lead to the most optimized outcome.
Except that many humans are irrational & dogmatic, and driven by idealistic / empathetic concerns, would pick blue, even if that requires coordination which is not guaranteed & which puts them as risk.
Knowing this, even if you’re initially inclined to vote red, the actual moral choice, to avoid the death of those willingly putting their lives at risk, is to vote blue to maximize the chances of saving everybody.
In short, if you know that others are not perfectly rational agents, to save them you have to go along with their irrationality, which is counter intuitive.

Red is not a real button. The dilemma is phrased like it kills blues, but it doesn't. It does absolutely nothing. The blue button kills blues. Red button is a scapegoat so blues can blame reds if they fail to reach the objective they imposed on themselves. And they try to guilt trip others into doing the same mistake.
Remove red, the blue dilemma still exists.
Blues need 50% of people to press their button or they die.
Imagine you're in a room with only the blue button, do you press it? Since you don't know if people will pick blue or not (50/50) it's akin to picking up a revolver with the chamber half filled and playing russian roulette.
Just because you daydreamed a scenario in your head where you're a hero saving toddlers and colorblind people and whatever else I've seen blues invent to justify their action. When you're actually just gambling your life by ego thinking you're oh so morally superior.
Don't press blue.

Best IQ test this site has seen in a while. Most read it as blue being the only way to guarantee everyone's survival, but the simpler solution is for everyone to press red. Although one may press red for selfish reasons, it's also the only true guarantee of survival for anyone.
