Welcome to Thinking in Cases (TIC). I focus on criminal psychology and investigative reasoning — examining behavior, decision-making, and evidence in real cases. The goal is to understand how events unfold, not to speculate about individuals.

@ThinkingInCases @NWDisorder1111 2/2 - they killed her bc they were tired of helping to care for her with nothing to show for it! These things are ridiculous. Even Nanos has detectives who would’ve found these improprieties in about 10 minutes. Analyze away but don’t make her family into felons to make it work.

Some of the residents of Catalina Foothills in #Tucson are rude, entitled jerks. Given that one of their neighbors, an elderly woman, was (allegedly) abducted from her home, they should be grateful that media, responsible streamers, and investigators are out there.

An afternoon in Brooklyn turned into every parent’s nightmare. NEW: A 7-month-old baby has been killed in a shooting near Humboldt Street and Moore Street in Brooklyn. Police say the child was struck during gunfire in the area, and at least one suspect was taken into custody while another remained sought Wednesday night. Multiple experts are starting to align on one thing in the Nancy Guthrie case: This may not be a typical ransom scenario. Former FBI agent Chris Roach suggests the behavior, timing, and communication don’t clearly match a crime driven purely by money. Instead, the focus is shifting toward something more targeted — and possibly planned. #NancyGuthrie #TrueCrimeAnalysis

@CathyQuinn1231 @NWDisorder1111 I completely understand that, and I agree — they deserve privacy and space to grieve. My intention isn’t to speculate about them, but to look at the broader patterns in the case. There’s a difference between analysis and accusation.

@ThinkingInCases @NWDisorder1111 Of course and rightly so in the beginning, but it’s been 2 mos - their cars, home & electronics have all passed inspection, they’ve been cleared. Ppl have gone to them, talked to employers, written horrible untrue things about them. Can’t they grieve in peace now?

@theleetch That’s an interesting angle. Blackmail would shift this away from a financial motive and more toward control or leverage. The question would be — what would they have on her that’s strong enough to drive something like this?

@chiIIum If not a red herring, there must have been urgency on the porch to leave blood there and not clean up. Porch is inconsistent with “immaculate” interior of the home.

How did investigators come to the conclusion that Nancy’s house was immaculate and it didn’t even look like a crime was committed? Did they just assume that, because nothing was broken or taken from the home (etc.)? Or did Annie tell them it didn’t look like anything happened and nothing was taken from the home?

Who was the last person to see or talk to Nancy Guthrie other than a family member before the alleged events of March 31/February 1? What was Nancy's mood at that time? Did she express any sort of concerns or was she happy and upbeat?

@ThinkingInCases That's what I think. If the driver pulled up to the front drive, it would be picked up by the door camera. If the driver went to the garage area, wasn't there a camera in that area, too? And I'm curious if anyone can answer the questions in my post above.
