Lately, we have had to grapple with several otherwise excellent candidates’ belief that defending Ukraine harms the average American financially or, worse, that they are uncomfortable with the concept of military aid. It is the responsibility of those with power to defend the interests of those without it, especially when we are the reason they are powerless. If they aren’t willing to stand up to foreign oligarchs/imperialists, how can we believe they will be ready to stand up to America’s corporate, imperial interests when they bully & threaten them every day in Congress? For that reason, until @claireforny commits to supporting both humanitarian & military aid to Ukraine, we cannot endorse or support her no matter how much we may otherwise align. Solidarity with both Palestinians and Ukrainians must remain a red line.

holy fuck I don't even care about Hasan that much but the internet is just forcing me to like him more and more every single day

My very first morning filming Detention in LA, which was supposed to be an $800k shoot, Iatse showed up with a ballot box and said the crew was going to "vote" to turn it union or I get shut down. I had no choice but to flip it and spent the rest of the shoot scrambling to find money every three days. After it was done, my own DGA union kept sending me bills to pay for fines on a movie I spent my own money on. Of course all this expanded my budget which then put me in another tier of SAG which then increased the budget again. It was an endless union squeeze that kept pushing the budget up, with me holding the bill. As they say in Goodfellas, Fuck You Pay Me.

Obsession's director has responded after the art director said she earned less than $7,000, while the movie made nearly $300 million He said the crew "deserve to be recognized" but that those who take financial risks are rewarded the most

@todayis_gloomin @transyapper7781 They signed the contract stating how much money they would make for their work in the film, its not his fault that they didn't negotiate for a higher pay and the movie made that much money. If she has a problem with it, then she should've contributed to the budget.
