Year 7 👏🏼😂 poor lad has just discovered theoretical physics.

Came back on here to see what’s new in the community… still a cesspit (not the education side!). Is there an alternative place for educators to share things yet? 🫣

A rather unusual long meteor track this evening at 1812 UTC, based on reports it seems to have gone W to E directly overhead here in Herne Bay and broken up as it went over the sea. I would be interested to see reports from elsewhere as the long track is quite something!

In today’s education news… a 1/3 of children are starting school not school ready in buggies and nappies and covid is the main reason? But is covid really to blame over other issues?

@edmunds_dr I’m Edexcel… have been for years. Have tutored AQA and when I moved schools briefly taught OCR before moving back to Edexcel. I really enjoy it, the kids seem to be able to access it more. Have looked at Cambridge international in past, taught iGCSE in old school.

I have been researching moving from AQA for A level physics- I'm interested in what others have found who have moved to OCR or Edexcel. (I'm looking at Cambridge international, which I suspect is of limited interest to most but has no required practical requirement)

@MrBoothY6 A few years ago the whole year 11 voted for a boy with Down syndrome to win prom king, his dad was coincidentally working as security in the venue. Not a dry eye from a teacher in sight. The applause for him was deafening. We didn’t have a clue they’d done it.

We have a child with quite significant needs in our class, and yesterday a group of the boys squirrelled off at break time and came back with a list of suggestions to make sports day accessible for him, such as blutacking his egg to his spoon. The kids truly are alright.

This is the most honest and calm party political broadcast that I’ve seen, just having a chat and a walk with @GNev2. No drama just Starmer. I’ve always been a Labour voter and that’s not changing at this election. I’m going to see what Labour can do.

STEM workshop day at @LivUni today for our Year 12 students. So excited to see what they get up to!
