The Amerks could have some blue line help on the way soon at least.
Mrtka and the Thunderbirds are down 2-0 in their playoff series. Game 3 tonight.
We’ll see if anything happens with the NCAA defensemen (Strbak, Geary, and Kleber).

Amerks are without the following players for various reasons that were rostered at some point:
Forwards: Rosen, Ostlund, Dunne, Fiddler
Defense: Metsa, Johnson, Rathbone, Novikov, Mrtka
Through all of this the team is still hanging on and competing.

@pwilliamsAHL Sad to see any city lose its team. I recall vividly what may have been their first game. They were the Amerks home opener to start the 2001 season. There was a long remembrance ceremony for 9/11 and Rick DiPietro was the Sound Tigers starting Goalie.

It's official.
The New York Islanders are relocating their AHL affiliate from Bridgeport for Hamilton, starting next season.
The move ends a New York-Bridgeport affiliation that started in 2001.

@SabresAmerknews I would not give him a Qualifying Offer. I could listen on an AHL deal, but they have a lot of bottom 6-type players already signed for next yr. Slaggert, Warren, Kopff, Costantini, Geertsen, Savage etc.

Has Olivier Nadeau earned a longer look in his development?
After being mostly an ECHL player his first two years pro, he’s been a fixture in Rochester’s lineup this year.
He will be an RFA at the end of the year and i had assumed he would at best get an AHL deal.

Credit to Minnesota Duluth for battling back against top seed Michigan but fall short 4-3.
Kleber had a chance in the final seconds to tie. His season is now over. We’ll see if anything happens there with him.

@TomTelfer @LGA585 No, its this year. Totally different. Can't compare the two. And he wasn't wearing Sabres gear when addressing the media. He is so low key and apologetic, it just isn't the same for me, but don't compare the 2 seasons. If a guy hits .300 last year doesn't mean he'll do it again.
