@NationalHways Hi, it’s actually J18 - counted the wrong way - in the middle lane as you approach the junction (just before the brown tourist sign) there’s a huge hole in the middle lane. After junction there are numerous holes in the middle and nearside too.

@RoyalMail how on earth do I speak to someone about a tracked parcel that’s spent 8 days ping pinging between Gloucester North and Bristol without getting to the delivery address?

@DavidLarkin85 @Mouhssin_Ismail May I just say that schools teach PUPILS. Universities teach STUDENTS. There are no students in schools, except student teachers.

@BarbaraBleiman Whether it’s a booklet or just a text, lessons can be uninspiring, lack rigour and not add value to a child’s experience. Used correctly and judiciously booklets can be a brilliant tool in the English classroom.

We need to re-skill new & inexperienced teachers to feel confident that their own thinking & subject knowledge is vital & key to learning - not someone else’s half-digested booklet. SLT need to know that too. In recent discussions with some HoDs, they were saying that too! 6/

Is it just me, or are others also concerned at the whole bookletisation trend (fad?) for subjects like English, where there's no 'right' order, the curriculum is cumulative, much depends on student response & as @MaryMyatt says, high quality texts, not resources, are key? 1/

@MissAHadley A complete shut down is as productive as trying to keep going - it’s called a break for a reason!

Teacher twitter... I feel so guilty! I've had such an unproductive break 🥺😳 Anyone who knows me knows I rarely stop and I'm always spinning lots of plates and side projects. This Christmas however, my body just couldn't take it 🫠 Need to have a productive weekend now 🙏💻📚

One of the traditional parts of Christmas Eve for us is the annual opening of the Quality Street data gathering session. I’m very pleased to announce that the chocolate orange cream is this years winner.

If you were interpreting the term somewhat widely, what poems would you include in a unit on "Protest Poetry"? (I already have plenty of ideas on poems relating to ethnicity, racism and identity)

Was criticised yesterday for starting a year 13 A-level English Literature lesson by asking them to read a high quality article linked to the poem we'd been studying the day before, highlight and annotate connections to the poem...instead of a retrieval.

Contextually how exactly would more money have helped Tiny Tim? Is it just a case of better diet or was there actual legitimate medical treatment he needed? @SPryke2 @TeacherBusy @bruff

The thing where boys can't leave each other alone in class and are constantly turning around to laugh at each other, get a reaction, mess with each other's desks etc. How do you stop them doing that?

If you've been to Ghent and Antwerp in February half term and you were thinking of another moody cold northern European city, where would you go? Don't say Amsterdam and don't say Copenhagen.

@MissKCrawf @dsprimed All the feels, just turned 57 and still full-time with a hefty mortgage following divorce. The idea women are left really well off with the house etc is a killer to my very core. Cost of living would make retirement impossible for me.

@dsprimed Oh the dream. I know I’m 12 years off but sadly solo mortgage post divorce means it will never be a reality for me. I’m imagining me on my zimmer frame around school 🤣

I am definitely going to retire early at 55. I make the cut off. I can't afford to go at 55. I can't afford NOT to go at 55. I'm 53 in December. Do the maths and send me the job offers! I have to be retired for one day I think, then I'll need to start clearing the mortgage.

Just got a devastating phone call from our local vet. Our cat Samosa was hit by a car earlier and unfortunately passed away. Life is cruel.

It’s been 20-something years & we’re no closer to understanding how Tess Daly got this gig, or how she’s managed to keep it with the wooden delivery, forced banter, fake laughter… yet here she is. Year in year out, prime time TV. An enduring BBC mystery. #StrictlyComeDancing
