Despite travelling over 350KM for the KCB Schools Chess tournament, only for it to be postponed in the final hours, the Mitooma District based team from Holistic Junior School refused to let the day go to waste! They turned disappointment into opportunity and visited Wampewo Ntakke S.S in Kasangati for friendly games. Warmly welcomed by the hosts, the young players spent the entire day battling more experienced opponents and learning from every move. True love for chess always finds a way. Unrated Daniel Thokjang Malony is the new South Sudan National Chess Champion. He won the event with a clear 8.5/11 followed by CM Gong Thon Gong with 7.5/11.
