It has been a singular honor serving President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi as their U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. I am grateful for the opportunity and how the people and partners I met during my tenure enriched me. @realDonaldTrump @AGPamBondi

Today, the @FBI held our annual Wall of Honor Memorial Service — my first since becoming FBI Director. This is a day where we remember the lives and service of our fallen FBI members — and just as importantly, it’s a day to honor the families they left behind. The names on this wall gave everything to the mission and the people they served — and while it’s hard to find the right words to express what that sacrifice means, ceremonies like this are a way we as the Bureau can make sure their lives, stories, and service are never forgotten. This year, we added two names to our Wall of Honor: Evidence Technician Melica Sanders, and Special Agent Donald Kleber. Melica and Don may have had two different roles at the FBI, living in two different parts of the country. But two things they had in common were their dedication to the mission, and how both answered the call and responded heroically after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Melica deployed from Memphis to the Fresh Kills landfill, working 14 hours a day for over two weeks sifting through the wreckage from the attack. Melica passed away from 9/11 related illness on May 25, 2017. Don deployed from New Haven to Ground Zero, and was on the job for nearly a month pulling debris. Don passed away on January 15, 2024 from 9/11 related illness. These heroes deserved to be remembered and recognized for their painstaking work during some of America’s darkest days. May their memory forever be a blessing. And to the families, friends, and colleagues of all FBI members lost in the line of duty — we thank you for your bravery and service.
