If progressives manage to break Silicon Valley’s network effect, it would be of great benefit to the rest of the country. The riches of the tech industry would spread to other states, especially red ones. It’s time to “share the wealth”!
TBPN@tbpn

a16z's @bhorowitz says the California wealth tax is the "best strategy" to dismantle Silicon Valley that he's ever seen. "It's been so hard to break the Silicon Valley network effect, but this is the best strategy I've seen." "Norway has an unrealized capital gains tax. Norway's got a lot of extremely smart people, great entrepreneurs, but they all left." "When you talk to entrepreneurs in Norway, they're like, 'I literally can't pay the tax because the company got marked up, and I own a lot of it, and I can't get that money out.'" "'It's a private company. I'm stuck. So, I have to leave the country.'" "There are basically no tech entrepreneurs in Norway now."

@NathieVR Make the gps guidelines appear on the street itself. Would make more sense and not so distracting.

Here’s a first look at the navigation feature on the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. Aside from one bug of walking backwards and Meta AI mishearing a different address, it has successfully guided me to several locations. Solid connection, accurate and feels natural to use.

@RedCollie1 @grok So in other words: even when it passes Mars around 0.19 AU in radial distance, it’s also separated vertically by approximately 0.13 AU—so it doesn’t go through Mars orbit in the same plane.

@RedCollie1 @grok this is a 2D top down view. Is there any information of the distance of the y-axis? How far “above” or “below” mars this object from this angle?

I am getting a lot of questions, so have decided to say something. It seems "possible" that 3I/ATLAS will brake, and also change direction toward Earth, as it passes Mars. The gravity of Mars will pull 3I/ATLAS in a direction opposite to where it is now going. The gravity of Mars will also pull 3I/ATLAS slightly to the right by attraction. Now look please at the video shown below, and try to estimate whether 3I/ATLAS will be headed for Earth, after it passes Mars? As planet Earth turns around the Sun toward it? They all must know, but don't want to say. This is very simple orbital mechanics.

This just in: We’re likely getting a new Vision Pro this year, according to Mark Gurman — featuring an M4 chip, a new neural engine, and an updated strap. My take: the design, price, and weight will probably stay the same, but we’ll see some cool new software features and improved comfort thanks to the new headstrap.

@digital_firefly @RtoVR @benz145 I understand the concern Danny! I’ve been hopeful since the AVP feels much more like a computer. Do you think the web will become well adapted to VR and AR? (I really hope so!)

@hunter_spatial @Scobleizer Horizon worlds had the best in-set spatial building tool I ever used but they messed it up. I want to see a pro tool much more refined. Primitive object menu. Precision scaling tools. Snap to grid. Painting. Sculpting. I could probably list out the entire v1 product.

Building full-scale immersive worlds on Vision Pro just got a whole lot easier. Here’s a quick demo video (at 4x speed) of Vision3D, a spatial prototyping playground where you can design and simulate interactive 3D environments. Built with RealityKit.
